Thank you for the very descriptive reply.
that is absolutely what I will do. I had an 89 Wrangler with a Rnino line interior paint. I never even thought of doing that to this JL but it will be at the beach constantly. Others on here talked about Armorlite. Is that an equal to Mopars mats?

Armorlite lines the entire tub like a rhino line. Little pricey for my taste but a lot of people seem to give it good reviews. I may eventually line it with something but honestly not worried about it at this point.

I hate it when that happens.

Back in “the old days” when Jeeps, Scouts, and Bronco’s were almost all used by folks who either worked the vehicles OR outdoorsmen, 4x4’s almost all came with rubber floors and drain plugs (and vinyl seats). I literally used to hose mine out w/o issues. I’d say in todays world maybe rhino liner or similar with plugs installed, pull the plugs and wash it out.

Pull the carpet and replace it the day you sell it. Leave drain plugs in if you want to prevent road grime and take them out when it rains. You will need (rubber) floor mats because the metal floor gets hot. Always carry a towel to drape over the steering wheel where it meets the dash to prevent clockspring from being damaged. Those floor bed-lining options are nice as well.

I run all summer with the plugs out. This is my 5th summer doing that. Never had any water or dirt come in through them. Hmm now I'm worried I'm not driving on dirty (i.e. fun) enough roads!

I’ve decided to remove all carpet and raptor line the inside tub. If it’s too tinny, I’ll go for the fitted matts. That’s how my old 89 was and the floors were solid and easy to care for.

If you leave them out you'll get road borne water and dirt or mud from the road, but that's a choice too.
You’ll also let in heat and cold but I’d guess that not a concern in Florida at the beach.

We thought about using bedliner on the floor but the armorlite flooring is really nice. I've been doors off and caught in the rain here and we just pull the plugs and drive around a bit and it gets almost all the water out. They clean up great and show zero wear.

Ordered Raptor Liner. I’ll plan on installing in 3 weeks when I have a full weekend to complete it. I am still going to put in the Armorlite when I’m done. Definitely looking forward to it.

I'm not sure how well the armorlite will fit over a lined floor. In fact I think they even recommend against that.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll look deeper into it. May end up with just some rubber mats?
