Bumping this old thread so all the new (first time) Jeep owners like myself will know that it will be ok when (not if) this happens…
Read through this whole thread and can’t believe no one has suggested parking your Jeep in a big bag of rice overnight…

Ok, but what about MODERN jeeps with the speakers mounted up top by the roll cage and then having the roof off? Ain't no way these things are even moderately water-resistant with all those wires and electronic plugs up there!

Also, idk about you, but my 2024 Rubicon X 4xe is built like trash. Interior panel gaps everywhere that would letter water in no problem onto wires and internals.

Well, my JK and JL have both been soaked by monsoons. Speaker bars included. The JL got a gullywasher across the dash, too, with all those nice electronics and heated seats and such. The Uconnect went wonky but when it all dried out, it worked like new and still does.

These things (JL´s) were tested extensively in a rain chamber when developed. They can handle it. Mine has handled it at least 3 times with no harm done. It´s 7 years old now and has 103,000 miles. Just a baby. Ï´ll report back if anything develops, but the speakers sound as good as day 1, and better than the ones in my Gladiator, which has never seen rain in the interior. Maybe the water made them better? LOL.

This is great to hear! I'm not about to purposefully get stuck in the rain, but maybe I don't need to panic!

Yep, don´t panic. I´m not kidding when I say gullywasher. I watched from a Subway window as my Jeep was absolutely punished by it. Drain plugs were open in the floor. I parked it in the sun the next day and lifted parts of the carpet to get air under it. It dried out pretty quickly because it was a hot day and not very humid. I think that was 3 or 4 years ago.
