I use NRS cam straps and the webbing on the back of the driver and passenger seat to secure Wavian Jerry cans - ie 10 extra gallons. Only when needed. I have no issues with the setup.

Fuel in the passenger compartment, what could go wrong(aside from the smell)?I use NRS cam straps and the webbing on the back of the driver and passenger seat to secure Wavian Jerry cans - ie 10 extra gallons. Only when needed. I have no issues with the setup.
There’s no smell, and you should see the other shit I do!Fuel in the passenger compartment, what could go wrong(aside from the smell)?
I only have the can on while Jeeping, so hopefully no one is ever that close ... But you have a good pointI ran jerry cans like that for years on my previous TJ/LJ’s.
I mounted mine a bit higher to minimize the chance of getting punctured in the event somebody decided to not stop when I did.
I usually pour the Jerry can gas into the Jeep every couple of weeks. I know gas doesn't go bad that fast, but that's how I do it.For those that carry extra fuel cans, do you "rotate" the fuel occasionally to prevent spoilage?
When I carried extra fuel it was typically used at the end of the trip then replenished at the beginning of the next trip so never stored for more than a day or two.For those that carry extra fuel cans, do you "rotate" the fuel occasionally to prevent spoilage?
