I had the same issue and it went away with the same fix.In my 21 JLR I have that problem, if I have my phone plugged in the USB port in the arm rest… I’ve since plugged into the front media station usb-c port & have been using it flawlessly since months. Not sure if they have a update for the arm rest/console as of yet. I honestly forgot about it.
Definitely try the USB-C port on the dash. That is your best chance at success. While using an Apple cable is best, if you don't have one direct from them, just get a decent one from Amazon. You don't have to spend a ton, but don't get the absolute cheapest cable either.I have tried both Apple and third party cables and the issue is the same. I am going to try the front port where the USB-C port is and see if I have better luck there. Just insane to me that this issue in some capacity has existed for four years and Jeep can't figure it out. I had many U-Connect issues on my 18 JL which I bought not long after the JL's were released. Nothing but headaches with U-Connect. But I am sure the Wagoneer and its 100k price tag will get the best version they can think up while the Wrangler continues to suffer.
Besides the typical try a different cable, test a different phone, disconnect all other items from all USB ports except the phone, reset phone to factory to remove any potentially conflicting apps, try phone in a different vehicle, verify vehicle software is up to date troubleshooting techniques, I’m not sure what else would fix it. Maybe there are some clues here at the wonky USB thread - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...has-gotten-the-newest-update-report-in.77165/Duh lol I have 39.6
Oh I know the effort on here is probably 1000x the effort the dealer would give lol Me and my wife both use the Jeep and both experience the same issues. I use CarPlay with both phones in two other vehicles and never experience this issue. I probably won't do a reset on my phone over this just due to what a PITA that is. Jeep needs to unfuck themselves.Besides the typical try a different cable, test a different phone, disconnect all other items from all USB ports except the phone, reset phone to factory to remove any potentially conflicting apps, try phone in a different vehicle, verify vehicle software is up to date troubleshooting techniques, I’m not sure what else would fix it. I do know that the combined efforts to help on this thread is 100x the effort you would get at even the best Jeep dealership since they are required to send all service advisors and techs to IDGAF training classes with monthly refresher courses. ?
What did you do different to potentially fix it?So far the front USB has yet to drop a call or disconnect. I had a 20 minute phone call today with no issues. Typically it would disconnect within a minute.
Nothing just plugged it into a different port. I never use the front port that also has the USB-C port. I typically use the center console port and thats the one I have issues with. What did you do different to potentially fix it?
Oh. Your first post said you tried different ports, so I assumed you had tried that one already. All USB ports should work, but it helps from a troubleshooting point of view to try them all.Nothing just plugged it into a different port. I never use the front port that also has the USB-C port.
