Looking at cargo lighting for my 2 Door. Cleaner install, easier install would be ideal. Minimal wire showing. Recommendations?

If you’re looking for general lighting, Check out the Brawlee light. The latest version is made with heavy duty silicone rather than aluminum, so there are no issues with it following the curvature of the tailgate glass. For ease of installation, use the Quadratec 12 volt power adapter. There’s a 10 page Brawlee thread on this forum.

You're not going to like my setup, but it definitely provides ample interior lighting in the cargo area! And it costs about $8 all told!!!

There's a perfect size hole, I believe it was 3/4 in, OEM from the factory which you can easily pop these into. Wired into your side marker light, It will be on anytime your lights are turned on. Biggest downside is, you can't have trim in your cargo area. But if you like me, and you don't like the trim to begin with, it's perfect!

The whole you popped a light into backs into the c-pillar, so you just need to rope the wires out and attach it to the side marker light.

If you do run this route, your best bet for identifying the side marker light is to remove your tail light and identify what color wire the side marker light is, and then finding it in the wrap inside your cabin.

So long as you wrap it up properly, it's not anymore out of place than the original wires from the factory.

Best part is, you get 10 of these in a pack from Amazon for about 8 bucks if I remember right. So I have 8 more purple lights I can do other stuff with.

Obviously you don't have to go with purple, I just wanted something that was a little bit different color-wise that stood out. Also worthwhile to note that whatever piles of lights they were picking these out of, it took six different orders for Amazon to get it right in ship me purple lights. They kept shipping me red lights with a tag that said purple. I guess after five returns from the same person somebody thought maybe they should check and see if they're actually purple before they throw it in a pouch and ship it out.

Obviously not an option for everybody, but if you don't like the trim just like I do, it's a really nice tidy and easy to do option for little to no money.

They have a bunch of different color options too:

I used this and really love it. For sure not the cleanest wiring, as you plug it in back there, but its very bright and easy to use.

Amazon strip light

Edit: You can hard wire it and then the remote will be your on/off. I Might do that eventually.

I have a gladiator with a topper so I decided to install motion lights. I realize this won't work for many people, but the sensors are aim-able and if you point them back, they might work great in a Wrangler.

It comes with 2 of them. I've got them set to go on at level 3 brightness out of 5. With 2 it's very bright and a charge lasts about 4 months. You can set them to go on with motion all the time or only when it's dark. I have them set to go on only when it's dark. Overall I'm very happy with them at about 10 months of use.

This is what I have had for a few years now. I hardwired it into the cargo light and it dims and shuts off correctly. The wiring is very clean if you run it through the proper channels. I had to get some 3M double sided tape and re-attach it after a year, so you may do that at first.

It lights up the cargo area and about 10ft behind the Jeep when the tailgate is open.

Very happy with it and it may be one of the most useful mods to date.

With the presumption that you have the USB plug in your cargo area, here are some options I found on the super cheap, plug and play, from China.

By the way I'm only linking to items that I would order. So I'm using my Alibaba expertise to vet these companies to make sure you have a lower likelihood of getting screwed.

This one is just a USB plug-in light bulb. Looks pretty bright too.

US $2.89 46%OFF | 5pcs Mini USB Plug Lamp 5V Super Bright Eye Protection Book Light Computer Mobile Power Charging USB Small Round LED Night Light
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLUSKVa

This one is kind of cool, it doesn't look like it produces a whole lot of light, but you can angle the beam where you need it, which is kind of handy.

US $2.09 35%OFF | Mini 4 LED Book Lamp Portable USB Reading Night Lamp White/Warm Color Table Desk Lamp For Laptop Power Bank Notebook PC Computer
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mso4mbA

This one's pretty cool, it's a 5 volt LED light bulb you can plug in with a USB cord and hang from the top of your Jeep cargo area.

US $0.88 51%OFF | Xiaomi USB Bulb LED Light Camping Portable Lanterns 5V Bulb Small Book Lamps Light With Switch Button Home Emergency Night Lamp
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrqe3Xa

This one's pretty nuts, I saved this one to my cart because I'm going to order this later. However in your scenario I wouldn't recommend more than 3m of stripping because otherwise you're going to be lining your entire interior. Personally I would only recommend 1m or maybe 2 m max.

Under $30 for 30 m of Bluetooth controlled RGB LED strip lights, that's an insane deal!!!

If you so wanted to, you could probably get this same stuff from Amazon, but you're more than likely going to pay multiples of what it cost to get it from the manufacturer (i.e. China).

Another vote for the Brawlee. Super bright, looks very clean installed and they have great customer service. I really like that the light spans the length of the glass hatch for total coverage of the cargo area.

Complete thread on here regarding the Oracle cargo light. I went with an Amazon knockoff since I got it for about $40 and spent another $10 in material to hardwire it. I like that the Oracle type light is concealed and replaces a factory part over the Brawlee and my reasoning for my choice. The brawlee doesn’t look like a bad choice though. I recently installed my second one and updated with pictures in the linked thread.

Can’t believe this hasn’t been mentioned already. @ORACLElights is a sponsor here too, I’m sure there’s probably a discount code floating around.

Does a decent job lighting the cargo area as well as area light for the tailgate table, cooking, etc and it has a built in hazard flasher for roadside stops

I too have this and am quite happy with it. I also keep one of these in the back. Magnet keeps it stuck to the roll bars and it rotates so you can point it where you need more light.
