So I'm sitting in the waiting room at the dealer to get my aux battery checked and replaced under warranty. Service manager comes out and tells me they're going to have to charge me to take the aftermarket fender flare extensions off before they can get in the fender well to check the battery. I said what aftermarket extensions are you talking about and he said the ones you put on the outside of the fender flare. I said those aren't aftermarket, they come from the factory on the XR model. He says no they don't. When I was insistent that they do he said well I will have to go look that up. Just so happens there's a Rubicon XR sitting in the showroom. So I point and say right there is a Rubicon XR that has the same thing. Now go fix my fucking Jeep 😂
I'm not surprised at anything anymore !!!! these past few years ive noticed many things like this specially being in the automotive industry , but just in general, peoples minds are so far gone and lost, that the saying " i have to pinch myself" is true and real ... WTFFF is going on in this world ? maybe im old school and im VERY alert and aware of anything and everything ( 70's kid) ... i feel like slapping or yelling at people/things like you described ....

What's annoying to me, is that people have probably been charged for warranty covered repairs when they should be covered by warranty. People make mistakes, but these mistakes are at a high cost to their customers. They probably deny thousands of dollars worth of repairs over a lack of training.

My jeep has a twin 😁. I love the hydro blue.
My wife picked out my 2023 392 hydro blue jeep out of four other colored 392's. Traded it in for a 2024 silver 392 with red and black interior. reminded me of my white 2015 hellcat with red interior and my white 2016 F Type Jag with red interior. My next-door 82-year-old female neighbor liked my hydro blue 2023.

I had one tell me my warranty was void at 10k miles on one of my last Jeeps because I went "Off-Road".

I said, "But it's trail rated?" and pointed at the badge. 🤣

I had barely done very light trails and some sand dunes.
I had the same experience at a dealership years ago when I was trying to get a leaky evap canister fixed under warranty on my JK. Scratches on one of my control arms was considered "massive damage" and they were shocked that someone would take a vehicle with the word Rubicon plastered all over the hood onto an unpaved surface.

My salesman, a fellow Jeep owner, was remarkably uninformed about the JL-generation Jeeps that I was test-driving (with him in the pax seat.) I didn't expect him to know every facet of the forensic-level pre-purchase research I had done, but he was whiffing a fair number of my increasingly softball questions.

I sold myself the Jeep. He was just there to do his share of the sales paperwork.

Because I don't want to be on the hook for a new engine the day after the factory warranty expires?
So what if the service manager is an idiot, they still have to replace the engine.
Your engine damage was obviously caused by the wind resistance of those aftermarket fender flares, sorry we will have to deny your warranty service.

Once again, I stand corrected. I only did it this way when I removed mine when I replaced it with a Genesis dual battery set up. Maybe that's what I'm thinking.
No worries. I'm just curious didn't you feel nervous about pulling up so many connectors? I would be freaking out - even disconnecting the Tazer to take the Jeep to warranty service makes me uneasy - these connectors are hard to split some times.

No not at all. The connectors were solid and and I did not use a lot of force to plug them back in. The plugs went backs into the sockets easily and caused me no problems or concerns.

Had the same thing happen with my XR. Drop it at the dealership because I have a leaky seal in the driver’s side door. I also tell them that there is something going on with the steering, as it doesn’t feel quite right — a very subtle shimmy. I wasn’t optimistic they would find anything. The tech looks at it and tells me that with all the mods (lift and bigger tires) it may not be covered by the warranty. I point out that it is completely stock and they say, ”Oh, sorry, did not realize that.” Steering stabilizer was blown and they replaced it under warranty.
