Well luckily anybody with the title "manager" at a dealer really isn't going to be working on much of anything except how to hook up with the new girl in sales and making sure his wife doesn't find out.

Unfortunately, my Jeep dealer hasn’t got any new girls in sales, that I would have to worry about my wife finding out about, but my Ford dealers in Gresham, and Forest Grove were/are Great at finding gals for the Parts/Service cashier positions that are the other end of the spectrum 😉

When I placed my first order for the '24 Sport the girl in sales was just 20 years old and had worked for a tanning salon before the Jeep dealer...about 5 foot 2 and I'd be amazed if she was 100 lbs soaking wet...she was smoking hot. Was wearing a cute blouse that was super low V cut and when she bent over nothing was left to the imagination...damn. She seemed to be pretty popular with all the sales guys for some reason.

So I point and say right there is a Rubicon XR that has the same thing. Now go fix my fucking Jeep 😂
I’ll take “Things that never happened for $1000”, Alex.

That's a priceless (though sad) story. But really I just wanted to chime in and say "Nice looking Jeep." ;)
My jeep has a twin 😁. I love the hydro blue.

Stealerships will do anything to bend you over. Hell you can get to the aux battery by removing a couple of clips on lower plastic well and folding it up on tire. Don't need to remove the wheel well at all. Aux battery case is right there...a couple three bolts and there it is! I would replace it...just remove it. Stupid system anyway. ✌

Twice now, at separate times and via separate Service Writers, has our Honda dealer performed periodic maintenance services (e.g., diff fluid replacement) that I politely declined when handing over the key fob. In both instances, they sheepishly acknowledged the mistake and zeroed out the related line items after I reviewed the invoices before paying.

Sometimes, we can bend them back. ;)

So I'm sitting in the waiting room at the dealer to get my aux battery checked and replaced under warranty. Service manager comes out and tells me they're going to have to charge me to take the aftermarket fender flare extensions off before they can get in the fender well to check the battery. I said what aftermarket extensions are you talking about and he said the ones you put on the outside of the fender flare. I said those aren't aftermarket, they come from the factory on the XR model. He says no they don't. When I was insistent that they do he said well I will have to go look that up. Just so happens there's a Rubicon XR sitting in the showroom. So I point and say right there is a Rubicon XR that has the same thing. Now go fix my fucking Jeep 😂

If I'm not mistaken, and I very well could be wrong, but I thought the service tech write up time and replacement guidance instructed the technician to replace the auxiliary battery from the top and not through the fender well. I have done it both ways and the fender well is the easy and logical way.

If I am right in my assumption, then, well you know................

I got to pile on, if they are removing fender well, they are not following jeeps procedure of going in through the fuse box right?

Is the 2021, different?
Maybe the EcoDiesel is Different?

I have read several statements about “Going through the fuse box”, and when I replaced my batteries, I didn’t do anything with the fuse box, I removed the main battery, and the aux battery was underneath it.

Stupid design, but Jeep had already pegged the Stupid Meter by using two asymmetrical batteries anyway

No. Never going through the fuse box. This whole shit started with the well meaning "Jeep Informer" putting out an Youtube video about doing it that way very early on on the JL's life, and then a bunch of other youtubers kept on putting out me too videos. It is an extremely risky way to do it, with endless possibilities bending pins, breaking clips and completely messing up/bricking your Jeep. The service manual calls for pulling the flare/liner and going through the wheel well.

I can only see one reason to touch the aux battery, and that is to permanently remove it to save some weight. The though of going through all this trouble to replace something that should never had been on the Jeep in the first place is baffling to me. When my started to get weak, I simply bypassed it for I don't know 2-3 min of work. Pull a fuse, pull and tape a cable from the negative terminal of the main battery. What can be simpler?

Out of curiosity, was there a specific reason why you're replacing only the auxiliary?
