Can we cut this piece off?

you can trim a section of it on the inside if need be to make room to bolt it down the hard top i bought off a forum member used to have an internal spare tire rack that used the hard top bolts which was in the way for the soft top. he trimmed some off. I have yet to have issues with the trimmed piece. ive attached a picture

Awesome, originally I was just going drill a hole thru but knowing you can trim it back some is perfect.

Yep thats exactly what Im looking to do but theres a big plastic piece in the way with the soft top lol.

Dont suppose you are willing to part with the cad files are you lol.

Im just over in Concord NC I may be able to swing up that way to be able to see what the difference would be with the Soft Top.

Those Jeep Force 41 brackets look slick. If they made something similar for 4 door I'd probably have jumped on it. I used a piece of angle iron on the front side of gunwale on my 4 door to make a similar shelf. As you can see best in the third picture, even though the height of my shelf lines up with the gunwale height, I ended up using support brackets instead of resting them on the tub. The height is the right height to have your feet under it and sleep comfortably (although that's likely a 4 door only activity).

Re: to cut or not to cut I try to make every mod reversible but if you cut at least the replacement part should be readily available and once you get one its easy to swap back so go for it!
