So Ive been looking to put a platform across behind the front seats and with the soft top the door surround extends over the front hardtop bolt hole. Has anyone just lopped it off? Or would I be better off making some bracket that may go underneath it and run the platform between the plastic.

Something like @jal s solution would be perfect but would for sure need to modify to make it fit.

No you can not cut that off. The pin that retains the surround is on that "leg" section.

Good to know. So if I go with a bolted bracket there I would end up having to leave anything bolted there pretty much all the time.

Wheeling will likely break the plastic. I’d build the platform below it.

I wanted to see better so my platform rests on my spare. Lots of space below the platform in the wheel well and four corners.

I'd do a bracket. Remember when you put the side window in, a lot of the stretch force is from that pillar to the rear pillar and pulls in.

The idea is to have a place for the dogs to rest and attach their harnesses to and still have plenty of room under for camping gear. Which is why Im hoping to bolt it to the top of the tub.

Also Ive been trying to figure out what thats a bottle of in the cooler lol.

yea I think Im gonna have to pull the surround off and get some measurements and have a set of brackets made custom and put a board between.

Ah, my bad. I’d just make sure the vertical supports are tight against the tub to prevent banging.

#11. Prefer #2 and #8 but can‘t get them up in my methy mountain town. Won’t touch #9 or #13.

you can trim a section of it on the inside if need be to make room to bolt it down the hard top i bought off a forum member used to have an internal spare tire rack that used the hard top bolts which was in the way for the soft top. he trimmed some off. I have yet to have issues with the trimmed piece. ive attached a picture

Check out the Henry McKenna Bottled In Bond, its 100 proof so it has the bite that the regular doesnt and is pretty reasonably priced for a higher proof whiskey.
