Bulletpoint mount bad quality

They have excellent and responsive customer service. I complained about the little nut coming off the GoPro Mounting and it needing to be a captured setup and they sent me a new one. More than I needed actually. Other than that issue, it’s worked ok.

I don’t know how it compares to others on movement but I get some vertical bounce that annoys me. In the 1.5 years it’s been there, it may be just a hair worse. I’ve thought about removing the dash mounting point again to add some foam under it to see if that tightened things up. I just haven’t gotten too it and on normal streets, it’s pretty good. Especially compared to some competitors. Support under the overhanging arms at the dash would be best but I’m concerned about rub marks.

That said, I thought they were US made when I bought them and was disappointed to find out they were Chinese. I’ve been pretty good about avoiding that with the Jeep. I didn’t look into it enough. I just saw they donated to veterans and they had a quick solution that was expandable and I went for it. Right now, I can mount my phone, GoPro, InReach mini or handheld GMRS.

FYI, to mount the InReach, you need the 17 mm ball ended arm they make and buy the Garmin InReach suction cup mount ($40?). You’ll only need the clip portion. Remove the suction cup mount and arm from the clip. This clip will work with the InReach, InReach Mini, and if you remove the InReach, you can rotate the clip 90° for an improvised handheld radio attachment. Just clip the radio clip onto the sideways clip.

They updated the design from one screw (mine that failed), to two screws (to prevent the turning).

Never had an issue with any Bulletpoint products over the last two years and prefer them over the pricier 67 stuff by a longshot. I think you may have just gotten a dud, which is possible with any product line. Sorry it failed, but hope you find a suitable solution, no matter the manufacturer. That's an easy fix. I had the same thing and just poked a small hole in the rubber and tightened the screw. The biggest issue I've had with my Bullet Point is the adhesive slipping on the phone holder. A drop or two of Gorilla glue fixed that one.

They replaced a magnetic mount for me with one simple email. Included an insulated branded stainless steel cup in the package also.

proclipusa.com Got one for my handheld and one for my gps. no glue screws, magnets or 2 sided tape. mounts in seconds stores away just as fast.

My BulletPoint mount has been working great and really clamps phone on rough trails. No regrets.

I I looked at both 67 designs and Bullerpoint before going with Anvil Overland. USA made, all steel and aluminum, no plastic. And, expensive. It works great. Buy once, cry once.

I have the bulletpoint and I also wish it was made in the US, thought it was but didn't put a lot of research into it.


That got me to searching, this seems interesting but could see an issue with it covering the radio, it may limit the actual usable area of the rail.

No distraction to me. You can move the device holders anywhere along the entire width of the dash and adjust the devices to be above or below the top of dash. I also use the bar to hold misc items. Wife uses it for hair clips, etc.

By the way, dont get fool by country of origin. You buy products that are good, not where they are made.
