Like many others on the forum, I experienced a broken/hanging sun visor—clearly the result of a poor design and flimsy part. Although mine was still under warranty at the time, I ended up spending $20 out-of-pocket for a simple, permanent fix. At the same time, we occasionally hear about owners taking their Jeeps to the dealer, where the "official" Jeep-approved fix is done under warranty, often with paperwork showing repair costs in the hundreds of dollars.

My question is this: has Jeep actually addressed the issue in production with a better design, or are they still just throwing warranty money at the problem? If it’s the latter—as I suspect—it’s a perfect example of why the brand is struggling.

This seems like a boneheadedly simple issue with a $1 solution.

Rant over.

I installed the Amazon clips on both my '24 Wrangler and my '21 Gladiator. Recently traded in my '21 Gladiator for a '25 Gladiator. I took the clips off the '21 Gladiator to install on the '25 Gladiator, but they would not fit. The shafts on the '25 sun visors appear to be thicker/beefier. Maybe Jeep corrected the problem?

This isn’t isolated to just Jeep. My Wife’s driver side visor did the same thing in her 22” Pacifica the other day. Unfortunately there isn’t a bracket kit like there is for the Jeep, and she has homelink making it a $500+ replacement if I can’t find a used visor.

I believe the same. Not many would notice the difference just by sight. I think after so many warrenty fixes on such issues, they had to redesign it. Though with the clips in place for prevention, I see no issue trying to swap 2025 visor pieces to pre 2025 JL and JT.

So...that means the bad design lasted through as many as seven model years. Don't manufacturers have warrany assessment procedures to watch for trends and then take corrective action? It would seem that this one was low-hanging fruit.

So, from 2018 until 2025, Jeep sold the same old shit everyone knew about?
