Like many others on the forum, I experienced a broken/hanging sun visor—clearly the result of a poor design and flimsy part. Although mine was still under warranty at the time, I ended up spending $20 out-of-pocket for a simple, permanent fix. At the same time, we occasionally hear about owners taking their Jeeps to the dealer, where the "official" Jeep-approved fix is done under warranty, often with paperwork showing repair costs in the hundreds of dollars.
My question is this: has Jeep actually addressed the issue in production with a better design, or are they still just throwing warranty money at the problem? If it’s the latter—as I suspect—it’s a perfect example of why the brand is struggling.
This seems like a boneheadedly simple issue with a $1 solution.
Rant over.
