Hey all, my Jeep has led fogs and they are great. I have a yellow film on them and they work decent in terms of light output. I am wondering though what options there are for brighter fogs that won’t cost an arm and a leg? I was hoping to get something that could still be used on the road but will light up the trail better.

I bought these 3 years ago:

https://www.amazon.com/Xprite-Lights-Wrangler-1997-2018-Lamps/dp/B015X1EW3G/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3RV5EY5FISHSX&keywords=xprite+jeep+fog+lights&qid=1668108931&s=automotive&sprefix=xprite+jeep+fog+lights%2Cautomotive%2C214&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1

They're super bright. You can drive with them on alone and it'll light up the road really well. No issues so far. They were installed on an aftermarket EAG stubby bumper. I wanted the amber yellow since they matched my stock sport turn signals. Ended up getting the pre-runner lights which completed the look I wanted.

I just replaced my led OEM fogs lights two months ago with a kit from Diode Dynamics. It was their SS3 Pros in yellow. They are SAE and DOT compliant. Very happy with them so far. If you get the kit (depending on which bumper you have) it's an easy install. Didn't mind spending a little extra since I use them all the time unlike true off road lights (not street legal) that I would only use occasionally. Wait till around black Friday, I'm sure they'll be a sale to help with the cost.

i swapped out my halogen fog light bulbs with supernova v4 led bulbs from headlight revolution. i got the clear ones and love them they light up the road nicely. i also did the led headlight bulbs as well. 4 years and no complains. at the time i paid $348 for both. they have gone up. yes its pricey but well worth the $$$. headlight revolution.

the other led bulbs you can look at are the beamtech. another good led bulbs at a cheaper price but good quality.

if you want to swap out the oem fog lights. look at baja designs squadron sport r. they have the ase street legal version in clear or ambers. i have the squadron sport amber (not street legal) and they light up the road nicely in bad weather.

Baja Deisgns SAE fog kit only cost a leg. It’s a great kit that is plug and play though, and they’re worth the money if you plan to keep your rig and appreciate nice lighting. Here they are on Jeepeto II

Have the same fog lights. They’re awesome. You don’t really notice how great they are until you need them!

Took a comparison pic during install. Unfortunately, being recessed in the bumper knocks down on the horizontal coverage, but I probably wouldn’t have known had I not stopped to test them out and take a picture.

I was looking at Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro. Pricey to say the least, but from what I have read around here, you get what you pay for. I will probably end up with 2 yellow in the bumper to replace the factory white, and two yellow and two white on the bar to protect the winch Head.

That's what I'm planning on running. I get them at a discount since my company is a vendor so...TWIST MY ARM...

We sell squadron pros as part of our landing light kit for an experimental aircraft. We've not had a single complaint about them in over 10 years.

Another vote for amber Baja Designs squadron SAE fogs. They’ve been great. I got an email from them a week or so ago saying that they’ve just undergone an upgrade. Current owners will be able to send theirs in to get the upgraded ones sometime after the start of next year.

Hey @Logan-Kn, Baja Designs offers a few plug-and-play fog light replacements for the jls for both the steel bumper as well as a plastic bumper. We also have an SAE version of this kit that is fully street-legal. Check out the links below to these options and feel free to reach out with any questions.

For those who have upgraded your stock fogs for a set of brighter SAE approved lights, are you aiming them the same as stock?
My stock LED fogs light up the road about 15 feet in front of the Jeep which isn’t really useful if I’m going more than 5 mph. I fail to see how having a brighter hotspot that close would improve anything. Were mine just aimed wrong from the factory or am I missing something?

When I upgraded mine it was in an aftermarket bumper at the same time, so I don’t have a direct comparison for OEM to aftermarket fogs in the same bumper. But fog lights are designed to be aimed relatively low and close in. If they project higher and farther they are less effective in fog. If you want the light cast further out, you want driving lights.
