Bolt-on Rear Trunk Spoiler Wing

This is only a half-serious comment: I noticed when I remove my Sahara's hard-top, anecdotally, I seem to gain 0.5 average MPG. I usually leave my Freedom panels on (I'm already too dark and handsome). I wonder if the swirling air in the back makes a more slippery aerodynamic shape overall.

With any "serious" aero-device on the hard-top, I would expect to look like those old-skool rear deflectors, and work to create a smaller wake, re-directing air-flow toward the ground.

Different, not my cup of tea, now if they made a wing similar to a old station wagon to help keep dirt off the back window then maybe.

Right after I got my JL I thought about the Station Wagon Wing thing, but immediately remembered--I'm old enough to have actually owned such a vehicle--that the 'wing' only creates enough wind to clear the glass at highway speeds. Any slower than that and it's as useless as you illustrate here.

That was actually the original intent on the wings on station wagons and was also on minivans. The wing would be curved downwards to actually bring airflow to the rear window area to clear out the dust and particles from accumulating because of the turbulent air area and I could understand the same principle wing for a jeep but this latest one is the wrong design and I don't think they understand aerodynamics if they install a wing like this on a jeep, it would need to be a curved blade downward same as the old stations and that would clear the dust etc.

I concur, the back of my 4Runner collects a ton of dirt. I'm not on many dirt roads with it but just has to rain and the road grime just covers the back.
