I remove and reinstall the stock OEM Freedom panels much more often than the ClearLidz. The ClearLidz is comprised of four bolts, two pads, and one big piece of polycarbonate. It's simple, but it's seven pieces to futz with, walk around adjusting, lining up with the weatherstripping, etc. so...
So, I've had a ClearLidz for over a year now. It's on the Wrangler this minute, because it's wintertime, and in SoCal, that means chilly 60 degree days with partly cloudy skies. ;)
While it blocks UV, it doesn't block infrared, so you do get warmed up on a sunny day.
If it really bothers you, why not cover up the unused holes with extra lug nuts?
These lug nuts are attached finger-tight with BMW lug bolts (M14-1.5)
If you're wondering why I have three locking lug nuts on the spare...well, it's kind of a joke. My ProComp 69 wheels literally cost $80...
IIRC, the H3 was build on top of a Colorado or Canyon compact truck.
Years ago, I did test drive an H3, but it was so pokey and poser that I ended up with an Xterra instead. I should've gotten a JK, which would've have been more fun, I'm sure.
I think one of the best compliments I received with my Wrangler was unspoken. An older Asian dude (I'm also an older Asian dude, so is it still racist and ageist to point it out? Yup. :) ) parked next to my topless Sting Gray Wrangler, tube doors on the front, with cheap 17" wheels and 33"...
There's only two Wranglers left in my condo neighborhood, and the other is a Sting Gray JLR. It's not a competition, but I do notice, the other guy's got a lift (I'm stock); fancier, more expensive wheels (mine costs $80/each off eBay, no joke); and stickers.
I live in SoCal, so it feels like...
IMO, the easiest out-of-the-box solutions are the RollnJack or the Top Lift Pro. Both are easy to relocate anywhere you've got space in the garage.
And when you need to re-arrange, like when your garage partner decides to buy a markedly different vehicle than what she used to have (Argh...I...
Given the situation, I'd opt for the RollnJack Lift. The claim is it only takes 15 minutes to assemble - maybe similar time to disassemble - and it was designed to be stowed or transported inside the Jeep on road trips. If you'd rather keep it assembled, and the neighbors have to see it, it...
Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm curious about this...
When you take the metal license plate off, do the sensors behave normally?
If you jack up the rear, then put it in reverse, do the sensors stay on (maybe they're detecting the ground)? Is this your Jeep?
If you're willing to try something abrasive and have the dexterity for a light-handed gentle scrub, a paste of baking soda and a drill brush attachment might remove those stains or might just be prep for painting? There's a lot of these scrubbers on Amazon:
Good luck.
A more flexible, albeit more expensive, alternative is the Teraflex Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount Kit w/ Brake Light & Camera Mounts. It's not only height adjustable, but adjustable for wheel offset, so you can snug your spare tire against the rear gate bump stops.
If you use the...
If it's just an occasional toy, a Turo rental might be fun and economical, not just in money, but time and space. A few years back, I was curious about purchasing a Polaris Slingshot, so I Turo rented one. It was great fun, but not worth the time to maintain nor the space to store to me...
I could never get USB 2 in the center console storage to work reliably with my phone no matter the cable.
I resorted to using the front USB 1. I also use a USB right angle adapter so the door will close a little more.
The Top Lift Pro is expensive, but it's kinda like divorce, expensive...because it's worth it.
But unlike divorce, the Top Lift Pro is easy and fast, like my first GF in high-school. I don't think I've seen anything demonstrated in real-time that is faster for removing and replacing the hard...
