I'm skeptical the little rubber cover over the key hole is going to last very long. and once it's gone, I wonder what's going to happen when rain is forced into the cylinder at highway speeds...

oh, and I'm really glad I purchased a pop rivet gun with 17" handles before I started this job. I tried using a rivet gun with 13" handles first, and there was no way I was gonna get it done with that. I'm not a big guy but, since you thought it, yes, I do lift :)

That Dorman looks suspiciously identical to the HF one I linked a few posts back. I bet they roll off the same line in China. And yes, 17" was nice to have. My rivets all popped about 2/3 into the second squeeze, and it was a nice pec workout.

I had the bolt lock for my JK for about 4 years. No issues at all with that rubber thing, and half the time I popped the hood I'd forget to put it back on for a few hours lol.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm confused about the grill replacement. The grill that comes in that box seems to cover only 3 of the 7 slota in front of the grill...

Finally installed mine today. Rivets aren't going anywhere and made me realize my age. Nice that it comes with the plastic tabs though you could re-use the old ones. Seems like it will hold up over time.

Installed the Bolt hood lock last Saturday. Top quality product, perfect fit & operation. Super easy install, only took me about 15 minutes. It doesn't require a 10mm, so I saved an hour having to look for one.

Installed mine today. It was much easier than I expected (hadn't dealt with riveting before). Works great.

Super easy install...I spent more time chasing down a 1/4” rivet gun than I did installing this. Luckily there was a Harbor Freight reasonably close as none of the big box hardware stores had anything that could handle the larger rivets.

Installed mine this morning. Took less than 30 minutes to install after I went to Harbor Freight to buy the riveting tool.
