Blown Steering Stabilizer

With the extreme cold here in Alberta last week, I noticed what appears to be my steering stabilizer was leaking an orange/yellow fluid. Assuming it had blown a seal. I haven’t had the opportunity to crawl around and ensure this is the cause but am assuming it’s the only thing with that colour fluid in the area. Has anyone experienced this with cold? Any experience with warranty for this? Or is it worth it to spend a few bucks and get aftermarket? I noticed bilstein has an option for about 125 which seems fairly reasonable.

Fairly sure, no evidence of anything leaking inside the engine bay and dripping down, though possible because I’m not sure what colour the shock fluid is in the stabilizer

Coolant is easy to identify. It smells sweet and it won’t be oily.

Yeah that’s part of why I figured it’s shock fluid, it’s definitely oily

Are you lifted? Bigger tires?

I changed mine out when I went to 35s and a lift. My tire wheel co no is heavy and I was getting a bit of bump steer. Got a great deal on a barely used Fox ATS off of here. Amazing feel and really tightened up the steering for me.

I went with the mopar fox stabilizer. Huge difference

I changed mine out when I went to 35s and a lift. My tire wheel co no is heavy and I was getting a bit of bump steer. Got a great deal on a barely used Fox ATS off of here. Amazing feel and really tightened up the steering for me.

No lift, stock rubicon on 33’s. Thanks for the feedback!

Well shit. If I wasn't 2 provinces away, I'd give you my stock one. Should be covered under warranty though. No concerns driving stock with it like that either.

I replaced the OE stabilizer with a Fox 2.0 last summer. The factory stabilizer just wasn’t up to the task of keeping the 35x12.5 generals under control.

I’m in northern WA, close to the Canada (BC) border. The OE stabilizer’s got barely 5,000 miles on it. It’s yours if you ever come down this way.

PS - it should be covered by the warranty, if your bumper to bumper warranty is still on.

If for some reason it isn't covered under warranty, go aftermarket.

I have no experience with the Bilstein unit but I like the price. My Fox 2.0 cost a little more(150), has about 45K handling 37" tires and still looks good. If you go aftermarket be sure and relocate it up higher with a kit. I smashed my stock unit.
