Billet hinges?

Any mitigated or halted the hinge corrosion issue by swapping in aluminum hinges?

Not a bad idea but you’re talking well over $1000 for a complete switch of decent hinges from what I can find.

I saw the set on Quadratec for $525.00 that was what got me thinking about it then realized those were for JKs...

What material are the current ones? I had mine off my JK and they were aluminium. Not sure about JL.

The reason the paint bubbles is because theyre painted together at factory. Smallest bit of water gets in and you're getting galvanic corrosion.

I decided to look into the materials. I had just assumed steel hinges and aluminum skins to save weight. Doors are steel, hinges aluminum. So the real fix would be steel hinges.

Ya, seemed odd they would change materials from the JK.

Personally I think the real fix should be them painting them, then mounting them.

well they are painted but the two different metals are whats causing the corrosion.

So the doors on your 2022 Rubicon are steel? Everything I have read said they were aluminum. Wonder when they changed that? My 2018 Recon had steel doors.

When I looked up replacement doors they said steel.

Doors are aluminum. I'd bet the hinges are high pressure cast or die cast aluminum.
