2021 JLUR Chipped Hinges

Is anyone concerned about the hinges getting chipped on the JLUR. I have a 2021 JLUR Diesel and love it but a little frustrated Jeep does not install wider sliders or at least tell you it will happen when you buy it. They started chipping within first 500 miles. Installed mud guards in front but lower hinges are still getting damage. I think wider sliders are the solution.

I don’t have experience with this product, but PPF is a pretty common solution to this problem.

Those hinge protectors cover the whole hinge assembly. I purchased some 3M clear film, cut out some rectangular pieces that I covered only the hinge area. Cheaper and easier to install..

I tried to do the 3M stuff, but I'm not that talented. Got some chrome plastic ones off Amazon that go on with double stick tape and they look OKish. Been on almost 3 years without issues.

Joe, I'll agree that wider sliders or small running boards would help. My 2018 JLU Sahara with factory running boards (which are not that wide) have kept my hinges chip free. And I have almost 29K miles on mine.

I followed up with Jeep Cares and the Dealership and they say they have never heard of this being an issue.
