I was thinking about getting this one, why do you want to remove it having issues?Anyone have experience with the Ronin 50 cal bullet antenna? Specifically, I didn’t realize how hard it is to remove once on due to the “anti theft” compound on the threads ... anyone know of good method to remove?

and it was a PITA to replace the entire cable mount. Never again.Try a strap wrench. It could need some heat to loosen loc-tite.Anyone have experience with the Ronin 50 cal bullet antenna? This is the one I have as well. I would not recommend going through a mechanical car wash with it but a brushless one is fine.I went with antennaX 24 inch, IMO 13 inch is a little bit too short.

The actual answer to your question is going to be no. A physically shorter antenna will not deliver better reception. For example, a full wave antenna at 100MHz is 3 meters long. When you shorten the antenna, you're making a trade-off. Don't used brushed car washes would be the best solution, it's far better for your paint, and won't whip around your antenna, either.Having issues when going through car washes as the stock antenna gets whipped around. Is there a replacement antenna that is shorter but delivers same or better reception?
Shorter = worse reception. There's not much way around this. It's how RF radiation works in the FM band. Any aftermarket antenna you use will perform worse. That's not to say it won't perform good enough, but it won't perform like factory.Having issues when going through car washes as the stock antenna gets whipped around. Can you post a pic of this antenna installed on your Jeep? I would like to see the difference between this option and the 24" AntennaX CB style setup others here are running. ThanksI went with this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZJNICI0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It comes up to about 1/2 of the height of the windshield glass and I’ve noticed no loss of radio reception whatsoever. I thought about a rubber one but read too many sorties about them flopping at highway speeds and getting brittle and cracking after a few years.
Just ordered (and the Jeep hasn't even been delivered yet) haha thxMy choice was this 13" one...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00651CLCS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
No affect on reception whatsoever. However I live in a more densely populated area so your mileage may vary. Certainly no whipping issues and I leave it on going through car washes with no issues.
