I've driven my truck up in Corova OBX, think could have just left it 2 wheel, it was so packed. Beach i was at today here in NJ is way thicker sand then OBX.I’ve always aired down and used 4H down here on the North Carolina Beaches. Never had issues or needed 4L.
We drove to Corava last year in my old Gladiator...2WD would have worked just as good as 4WD in most places.I've driven my truck up in Corova OBX, think could have just left it 2 wheel, it was so packed. Beach i was at today here in NJ is way thicker sand then OBX.
I aired down to 15PSI. Used 4L, I have to hang with a manual in 4 low. First time on beach with manul. Was fun, but tricky at start getting in right gear.If you air down enough 4H works fine but I just like the different gear ratio options 4L gives you so I nearly never use 4H always 4L.
Thanks! Will give 4H a try next time out. Thanks for feedbackI air down to 16lb and 4H / 6MT here on Cape Cod, all day long ?

Is there much beach open around Race Point? The ORV map shows pretty much everything closed for driving. Maybe they need to update the map. Thanks.I air down to 16lb and 4H / 6MT here on Cape Cod, all day long ?

Always check online ORV map/update for Cape ORV beaches…much is closed now for Piping Plover nests. Is there much beach open around Race Point? The ORV map shows pretty much everything closed for driving. Maybe they need to update the map. Thanks.
Thanks, I always check the map but sometimes more is open than shows on the map. We are planning on going down in early September, it is a fun place.Always check online ORV map/update for Cape ORV beaches…much is closed now for Piping Plover nests.
