Backup Camera issue

I have the same issue. I took to dealership, amd they said they could not duplicate. So the next morning, it happened again, so I recorded it. Here is just 1 of the videos I took.

Yep. Mine is solid green though, can't see any image at all. It hadn't done it for almost 2 weeks, and then this morning it did it through 2 start cycles, and then righted itself after the 3rd start.

Everyone having the issue whether it is intermittent, constant or even resolved should file a complaint with the NHSTA.

These issues need to be in file as the back up camera is a required safety feature and if it isn’t working it needs to be seriously looked into.

The complaint is one of those things that will ensure that as the number of issues grows it is properly looked at and dealt with.

I took my Rubicon in and the dealer said there is a service advisory to check connections to camera. Mine works now.

I too have been having a very similar issue since we got our jeep a few weeks ago. Took it in to the dealer to have them try to figure it out and said they couldn't replicate it. Happened again several times, (took pics with my phone this time to show them) and this time the radio also froze up and would not work either. It is back at the dealer today for investigation. I agree with others, this is pretty frustrating, mostly dealing with loosing the car for the day or so and working around that.
Hope they figure it out today. I will update what they find and if it fixes it or not.

Hello. I'll join the group. 3 days old and about 100 miles and the back up camera just failed to turn on. Screen stayed on the radio app. The rear sensors audio worked but no picture. Tried to stop and start over etc and nothing. Went home parked the car and went out a couple hours later and tried it. Worked fine. have not had another issue since and have no idea why .
Other than that love the Jeep. Puts my prior JK to shame ....so far.

Try pulling the radio fuse and putting it back in. . It will hard reset the radio. . If you're uconnect turns like a blue backround color dont worry it will go back to stock after a few minutes

Dammit, encountered this problem 2days after picking up our new JLUR. Wife is not a happy camper at the moment.

Made an appointment with local dealer for 5/30. Following the previously mentioned reset procedure did nothing to help, nor did pulling the fuse. Thought it may have something to do with heat, but still doesn't function first thing in the morning when cool. I just get the blue screen and some text that says the backup camera is not available.

I'm right there with you bro. Ours just works when it feels like it. And just 320 miles on the odometer. Seems like we have a new problem crop up with every 100 miles that is put on the Rubi. Frustrating indeed!

Just picked up my JLUR and couldn’t even leave the dealership as the key fob didn’t pair properly so they pulled the entire left side of the Jeep apart swapped some parts and it still didn’t work! Well after 3hrs of waiting the tech found a bad connection and we were on our way, well 450 miles later no reverse camera blue screen only and the only thing that runs threw my mind is after throwing the tech a fifty he looked around and said he spends more time fixing wiring issues with these new JL’s then anything else! They were actually trying to get me to take the truck as is with the key fob issue but that wasn’t happening. I grabbed the svc manager and told him it needed to be fixed so he grabbed the tech who pointed out that I had the soft top box in the rear and it was a real pain to remove as it’s packed tightly with foam to keep it centered and in place. Until I read the other camera issues here I thought maybe the soft top box which is now sliding around jarred something loose. My guess is when I restart it the camera may work.

Well just over 700 miles and we are back to NY the camera has been fine since then, hopefully it won’t be an everyday occurrence!

Turned Jeep off and it sat for two hours, camera working again.

Well mine can’t seem to work properly so maybe someone has a DIY to follow the connections back to the dash and we can check our own connections! Hate service dept.
