I disagree. Most manual Jeep buyers are manual or Nothing. They will either enjoy it like I do. Not whine about pedal feed back or whatever. OR get that Center point thing. I personally love my current stock manual. Setup. Sure it’s different than my TJ or JK or 1970 C10 3 in the tree. Thry are all fine. If someone opts for the auto then they were on the fence anyway. That what.
I disagree wholeheartedly. There is a gray area. I’ve driven mostly manuals my driving life…going on 20 years! Drove a manual JK for 10 years. Still have a manual C7 Vette. The manual JL issues are making me go auto. That and it’s only offered in the whimpy 3.6 (it’s okay, I owned one for 10 years). I’d rather spend my free time doing hookers and blow than dealing with tranny issues when the 8 speed is so good.

When it happens to you, the failure rate is 100%. I wouldn't put my legs into a manual JL and drive around. I knew someone with a missing foot.
When anything happens it is 100% from rolling over to engine exploding or getting robbed by a crackhead. No one asked you to drive one.

It’s gotta be good hookers and blow though! I test drove a 2 door JL with 3.45 gears and auto. It went really well. But I’m a MT guy through and through when I read all the posts over the last 6 months saying how bad the Jeep MT was. Large throw, Bad peddle feel. Hell when I drove my old 68 Ford 1 ton. First gear and second gear the shifter handle was in different zip codes. I am fine with the Wrangler clutch. Sure it’s light but so are spinners. Once I get my 4.88 gears in my 2 door Rubicon with 35’s., I will be better than tasty waves and a cool buzz!

Most of the people who have all these huge opinions have not driven, owned or perhaps even seen a manual. Bandwagon drama, what I call it anyway.

Wut are you talking about? No one is knocking it other than from a reliability standpoint. And the fact it’s only available with the anemic 3.6. But sshh…Jeep is aware of the manual issues and not fixing them. It’ll be our little secret. They’d rather not sell any manuals and avoid your wagon all together.

Now you’re talking crazy. There is NO manual in existence that is better than a solid night of hookers and blow.

So what you’re saying is 100% of clutch issues are due to user error? 100%? I repeat 100%. Seriously you can’t be that naive.

And if that were the case, riding the clutch results in a burnt up clutch, not a burnt up vehicle. C’mon get for real.
I think he said Jeep owner's are less attentive and less mechanically educated than drivers of other makes.

I find that incongruent with the knowledge and skills necessary to fix all the many poor quality issues with a jeep and the high number of owners that modify them, as compared to many other makes. It's the old "It can't happen to me" thinking.

You cannot judge JL’s 3.6 V6 by your JK experience.

JL’s engine feels much more responsive and refined than it did on JK. Some of it due to a heavily revised design, but much of it thanks to the amazing 8-speed auto.

So you own one and have experienced. OK then carry on.

Incorrect. Judging based on the JL platform. Especially at altitude. It’s still an anemic engine, IMO. The 8 speed does make it better, however.

Have you heard of a test drive? Or borrowing one from a friend or relative? Watch out, complex thinking will get ya!
So in other words you have no experience, make up your mind. Nothing complex about it just admit you never owned one or drove it, more than a "test drive".

Wow, let’s try this again. I’ll try to make it very basic for you. I borrowed my brother’s JL 4 door Rubicon (3.6) for over a week. I put over 200 miles on it. I also test drove the 4 poppers during that time, and much preferred the engine, especially at altitude. Also took the neighbors 392 out for a spin which was a hoot. Now, this is where you may get very confused, so I’ll try to take it slow here. I would NOT purchase any Wrangler again with the 3.6 given today’s alternatives. But I guess since I don’t own a 3.6 JL my opinion is no longer valid. But I’ll let you try to figure out my idiotic logic of purchasing something that I don’t prefer. Maybe I’ll buy one from Carmax and return it so I can say I owned one to better validate my opinion.

I don't think anyone here was bashing people that want and own MT jeeps. IMO, it was about bashing Jeep/FCA/Stellantis or whoever they call themselves, for not fixing the problem in a timely manner.
