If I disable the ASS lol will it kill my battery? Does anything else in the jeep use the Aux battery?

No it will not....if you are not going to use ASS....then delete the AUX battery. Lots of threads on ways to do this....I just removed mine completely.

I’m strictly taking about disabling it. And leaving the aux battery intact.

Just push the button every time? You may be able to just remove the farthest driver side hood switch which controls the start stop. I think their is a YouTube video on that.

Read this thread: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jumperless-aux-battery-bypass.95945/

By removing fuse 42 and disconnecting the appropriate wire to the battery you can take the Aux battery out of the equation without actually removing the battery. It does not impact anything aka leaves the battery intact. You will need to disable ESS each time you start (unless you get one of the many solutions that automatically disable ESS).

Not sure if this approach is what you are trying to accomplish but if you read the thread you should be able to figure out if this is what you need.

open the hood, there should be two push buttons near the front grill, both are black removing the bottom plug from one of the two will disable ASS until it is plugged back in. costs zero dollars

im unsure if this also disables remote start, because i don't have it in my jeep, just tape up the plug and go on with your day, i normally put the plug back in the hole so i don't lose it

I took mine out second month of ownership. Had it out over a year now and the only thing that it does is every 10-15 minutes when you're driving it will ding and tell you your hood is open and start stop service is unavailable. Honestly I got used to that within the first 20 minutes of driving it. But if it's something that would bother you, you might want to look into a start stop memory connection or something like the tazer JL has a memory portion as well I believe.

thank you everyone for the responses.
I am aware how to disable it.
my question is, if I disable it, will the aux battery kill my main battery?

I will prob just remove it.

I installed the Smart StopStart. Havent pushed the button in almost a year. My theory is if you never use ESS the AUX will last longer. Whether that's true or not remains to be seen. You should still get a message in the EVIC if there is a problem with the system (ie Start/Stop not available Battery Charging)

No, the only time a battery can "kill" another is if it goes bad. They don't kill each other very often contrary to popular internet lore.
Heck, 4xe owners have to replace their 12v batteries just about as often as any other Jeep owner and they only have ONE 12v batter and no ESS!!

MOPAR batteries are crap anyway. They fail at rates higher than with pretty much any other car company.
Look at the number of Jeep 4xe owners who have 12v batteries that die in anywhere from 1 month to 2 years - 4xe has only one 12v battery the same size as other non-4xe Jeeps, they have no aux battery, and no ESS.
Yet - 4xe owners will tell you the MOPAR batteries are crap and don't last long.
ESS or not, these batteries are not long-lived. And the main fails as often as the aux battery.

So me personally I purchased the auxiliary battery/tow system not because I plan on towing, but because having the auxiliary battery system is really nice. I already currently have three items tied into it. Aux 1, 2, and 3.

I don't know about in other states, but in Texas batteries tend to last about 3 years before they start having issues. I know it will cost a little more, but I plan on replacing both batteries at the same time. It's probably going to cost me about $600 because I'm not going to skimp on battery cost. I'm going to go for some top-of-the-line stuff. But if you have any intention on using the auxiliary battery and/or the auxiliary buttons (Personally I think they're extremely handy) I wouldn't get rid of it.

For $100 you can get something that will remember your choice every time you start the vehicle. I don't see why you do away with such a useful thing like an auxiliary battery. If you have no intention of ever adding any other electronics to the Wrangler, I guess it makes sense.

I don't know, for me whe whole reason I bought my Wrangler was to modify it. Aux 1 is my Dixie Horn, aux 2 is my light bar, aux 3 Is two front universal attachment points. (I haven't rigged it up yet but) aux 4 will be two rear universal attachment points. Plug and play is extremely valuable to me.
