Artec Long Arm Kits

I was looking into a long arm for the rear suspension and ran across Artec's long arm systems. I like that the forward frame mount for the lower arm appears to be up along the side of the frame, rather than hanging off the bottom of the frame, where it can get hit. Anyone know anything about these kits from Artec? They don't have a lot of information on their site. Calling @Roky , @Flip , @Craigger

Sorry, no experience with those…. Nobody addresses ground clearance as well as RK….Running 40s or 42s, there’s a lot less concern about ground clearance, but I knew I was only going to run 38s at the most on these Dana 44s at some point, still on short 37s currently…so RK was a no brainer…..

Nah, I was already on the 3.5 XFactor kit so I just got the upgrade kit….i see they’ve gone up, I paid about 2300 ish….

That's a really nice looking solution that I wasn't aware of when I bought/installed my MC long arm kit. The fact that it fits natively with their skids is a huge plus as well. The biggest problem I had with the MC DB3 drop brackets (that I had before the long arms) is it would hang me up on the rocks - a lot. Less of a drop with the long arm brackets but still present. If I had to do it again I would take a long hard look at the Artec.

Thanks! I did go with 4.5" springs in the rear since I have enough weight in the back that it was sagging with 3.5" all around. Also, I have a couple hundred pounds worth of skids and sliders that will make it settle some.

If the long arm kit hangs below the frame, then walk away. I've even hit my RK mounts and they are at frame level. I'd hate to have something that hangs below.

I haven't seen any pics of the Artec installed, so no comment on their stuff. I really like Artec, so hopefully they did their homework and made the mounts as high as the frame.

I installed rear 4.5" springs in jeep on Tuesday. Still with my mid-arm. Still 3.5" in the front. Same issue: rear was sagging with all the tools I carry on a typical trail run.

2 springs was equal to about 200 squats. I'm walkin slow.

I know it. I always somehow think springs are going to be so easy to change but it never is. I found that with the long arms I get more potential articulation and the e-brake cables basically become limiting straps. I got one of these and will be installing this weekend:

Did you go to the 32" long shocks? I'm running 30" Rocksport reds right now and I bought the 32" Rocksport reds even though the guy at MC said they "keep them for the long arm kits". I chickened out from installing them, since it was getting dark and I was tired. Probably a good thing. A bunch of things need to be checked to run them without doing something bad.

Smart to check things out when running long travel shocks…. Be sure and droop both sides of the axles at the same time…..when stuffing one side and drooping the other sometimes the spring won’t come loose….

On mine, (running almost 31” extended in front on 3.5” springs) the front is ok, but I’m at the limit for coils and shocks on 3.5” lift (which I’d like to stay at). The next move is to go coil overs, bypasses, or ORIs, but I’m not going to do any of that unless I go to tons and 40s……

The rear is where I had to address the coils coming loose at both sides of axle droop ( being on a car lift, or accidentally getting airborne). When articulating, stuffing/drooping, the coils stay put, but both sides drooping they’d come loose….

Not wanting to run limiting straps on the springs, that would be counterproductive for what I’m trying to accomplish which is max articulation….

So, what I decided to do was run a single limit strap in the center…. I welded a busing in the RK truss and bolted a strap from the truss to the frame….works great… when stuffing/drooping strap stays loose, barely moves at all… pics or it didn’t happen, lol.

I have the 6pak shocks which have really long travel so there's only one size. About time to charge these again - I'll be looking into nitrogen charge kits.
