The outage is under 30 seconds. But it occurs on the same road a few 100 feet apart
If it is Sirius cutting out and it happens in the same place the anteena isn't getting the signal from the sattelite, something in that are is blocking the signal. Nothing you can do about it

We're fairly confident (but not completely sure since he refuses to acknowledge it) that OP is having issues with SiriusXM and not FM.
I am assuming it is Sirius/XM since early on he mentions an over the air rebooot for Sirius, I could be wrong through since OP hasn't answered to question that has ben asked multiple times

If you want help that’s relevant you’re going to need to actually say whether you’re talking about Sirius XM or AM/FM radio.
I thought I mentioned…xm

to clarify…the Sirius radio is cutting out. It’s usually on the same road in the same area. It lasts from a second o 20 seconds. No pattern on the timing.it doesn’t matter what station. But there are other roads that this problem occurs.
it sounded like one of the respondents was getting frustrated with my issue and began cursing.
I’m sorry for that since cursing on this blog is prohibited.
So I’m requesting that the discussion on this matter stop immediately. I’ll check further with Sirius and Jeep.
For all of you, I want to say thank you for all the suggestions and ideas. It’s unfortunate that a respondent felt the need to degrade the communication.
Have a great rest of the summer. I won’t be commenting on any further discussion.

Sounds like there is nothing to check with Sirius or Jeep, you are just going through areas where the satellite signal is blocked by trees, UFO's or something else.

Right or wrong, you’ll need to have thicker skin if you want help here. Nothing personal just the nature of the beast.

I know there was a way to refresh the signal, but I don't recall how it is done. You could probably find it doing a search for refresh Sirius.

My .02, FWIW. The Sirius XM in the Jeep sucks, plain and simple. My wife's Subaru Outback XT gets excellent reception in areas where i get none in the Jeep. Just have to live with it, unless there is a better place to mount the XM antenna.

Losing satellite radio reception momentarily is completely normal. I have the same as the OP in a spot on my daily route where every time I pass through the same spot the signal goes quiet for a couple seconds. I just recently gave up Sirius & found I don't really miss it.

Put the OEM tall antenna back on?
This.

BTW, the AM/FM broadcast antenna only affects the performance of the AM/FM part of your UConnect radio. The totally separate SXM satellite antenna is located on the top “center” area of the Sound Bar, and only serves the Sirius satellite receiver portion of your UConnect unit. Example: putting one of those worthless 7.62mm round “antenna substitute” gimmicks on your fender instead of the long factory whip has no effect on your Sirius reception, but it will completely ruin your AM/FM radio reception, with the added benefit of looking stupid, IMHO. Sirius customer service cannot send your radio a “hit” to improve your AM/FM radio reception under any circumstance. They have nothing to do with a poor AM/FM antenna downgrade, or over the air AM/FM broadcast signals…

I'm sure your nice but every time I curse at a car 9/10 times it's a Subaru, they are the worst drivers.
I'd rather deal with no radio than drive one.
