Another offset/tyre question

G’day everyone!

I’ve just placed an order for a sting grey JLU recon and in Australia they’re super strict with tyre poke...

Would anyone with stock rims and either 285s, 295s, 315s or 35s be able to post some pics of their rigs from front on or best poke angle!? Or also anyone running a positive offset from 0 and above? Can probably only get away with a few mms here and don’t want to run flares.

I’ve already smashed through about 100 pages of photos and threads on here and I’m still confused and we’re in a full on COVID lock down so I can’t just go to a dealership and have a squizz...

Don’t know in Australia, but here the maximum recommended tire width to be mounted on stock rims (7.5 inches wide) in 295. By the time you go to 315 —or 12.5 inches, you will need a rim that is 8 to 9 inches across.

Some tire shops will go ahead and mount wider tires on the factory wheels, however.

I understand about rim widths, my question was maybe a bit confusing.

I’m asking specifically about tyre poke outside of the flares on rubicons with the wider axles. I’ve read lots of threads here on it but there’s nothing definitive I can find. Say for example if there‘s even poke with 35s on standard rims?

I’d normally go and just look at a rubicon in the flesh and see how much room I’ve got to play with from the stock rims to the outside of the wheel arches but unfortunately can’t do that as we’re not allowed more than 5kms from our houses or allowed to leave for anything other than 1 hour exercise and grocery shopping once a day.

hopefully I can drive it further than 5 kms when it arrives, otherwise the local golf course is getting torn up

Here's some pics of both 285/70-17 and 315/70-17 BFG KO2's on factory Rubicon 17x7.5 +44 offset wheels. No wheel spacers. No lift.

Awesome! Just what I’ve been looking for, appreciate it. Looks so good with the 315s.

So from the photos it looks like on the stock rims with the 315s there’s still no tyre outside the wheel arch?

edit; looking again maybe just a little bit with the 315s.

No poke with the 315's. Almost perfectly flush. Here's a pic of the same wheel and tire, but with the front fender chopped and a 2" lift

. About a 1/2-5/8" poke.

so how come there’s poke in this pic? Is that just from chopping the fender? The lift alone wouldn’t cause them to stick out further would it?

ah just had another look and noticed you chopped the side bit of the fender! Makes sense now. Thanks for your help mate, your rig is a proper beast with the new setup. Wish we could get away with that here.

I got rid of the bottom half of the fenders, which included a bit of mounding on the side edge.
