I have the Pixel 2. I also have this issue. Mine also deteriorates over time. The screen starts to turn yellow and very pixelated.
Same here, the connection issue is random, but the deteriorating and yellowing image issue went away with the latest update on the Pixel 2 (mid June I think) is yours up to date?

Found something odd regarding this - restarting the phone (Pixel 2 XL) and the car simultaneously reliably causes AA to start up afterwards. Kinda a lame workaround, but it works FWIW....

Just another thought since getting a new cable has been suggested. I've found that rebooting the phone (remove/replace the battery) works sometimes when I have trouble with AA in my non-Jeep vehicle.

I have issues with AA, as well. Had my 2018 JL Rubi-2 less than 2 weeks, got a lock up error on the phone while connected. AA will not return after reboot. Completely deleted the phone from the vehicle, and AA from the phone, started over, AA will not return on the vehicle. Tried new cable, various USB ports in the vehicle, no joy.

I have a pixel Xl...yes I need a new phone.
But I still can't get my GPS to show on the screen, everything else seems to work fine.
I don't know if my phones the piece of shit, the radio, or Android auto.
It does suck because I do not want an iphone, but they seem to have no problems with the uconnect systems.

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue? I have the same flakiness with my AA. It really beco.es a problem when I am using it for nav and then it cuts out.

Guys, I have similar issues. I have found that if you connect the phone to the USB connection before turning on the Jeep, it usually always launches. If I connect it after the Jeep is started, it almost never launches.

@AZCrawl

I saw this also.... but then I started using a different USB cable.... started using the cable that actually came with my Samsung S8, and then/now Android Auto (8.4 radio) starts up every time, without fail ,regardless of whether I plug in before or after I start the JL. Have not had any issues in months.

I have a 2018 JL and my Android auto hasn't loaded yet. I have a Google Pixel3 and I checked the settings and everything is up to date. Thoughts?

Not being funny, but make sure you’re connecting via the actual USB port and not through the phone charger port. Had the same issue in my 2018 Jeep GC until I read in the manual that the USB port had to be used. (For reference AA works almost flawlessly in my wife’s 2016 CTS charging port.)

Keep in mind that even using the USB port (in my GC) doesn’t solve the previously mentioned audio speaker/dropped Bluetooth pairing issues. Read elsewhere in this forum that a fix is forthcoming, but found no indication when it would be released.

Thanks for responding. I took the Jeep in and they are replacing the entire entertainment system. I hope this helps.
