Has anyone else had the issue where sometimes Android Auto works, and other times it does not? I've tried to reproduce specifically when it does NOT work and I can't find a repeatable situation - it seems random. I have a LG V30+, so it's a new phone... Thoughts??

I have the Pixel 2. I also have this issue. Mine also deteriorates over time. The screen starts to turn yellow and very pixelated.

Hi JasonMSN,

We're sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with Android Auto. Have you checked to see if it's compatible? Send us a direct message with your VIN so that we can double check.

It's a 2018 Rubicon - so yes the vehicle is compatible. Hence the fact that it works sometimes. The phone is new, so shouldn't be the problem. Likely some issues with the SW of the UConnect system. Given another person replied with the same problem - is there no known issue reported @ Jeep about this?

At this point, it works about 50% of the time - and I've found no usage pattern that tends to make it work/not work.

I have a Note 5 and use it pretty often and have never had it not start before or go pixelated. The only issue I've had is with Waze locking up and not being able to find or route to anything. If I reboot my phone, I'm able to use the app again and I don't need to restart the Jeep.

Wow, that's weird. However your Note 5 is pretty old - so maybe QA testing on the system happened well before Android Oreo phones were available so maybe we're suffering from incompatibility in forward, rather than legacy devices. Sheesh... Well I'm going into service next week to have the dealer complete a swap in wheels and winch from my old Jeep to the new one - I'm going to have them log this as a service request.

My Note 5 is still running Nougat and the Android Auto experience is pretty seamless. My only complaint really is the voice from Google Assistant and from Waze is distorted at times, no matter the volume. I have noticed though if I'm playing Spotify at the same time the voice from both assistant and Waze gets noticeably better. I don't really know what the connection with that is but I'm experimenting. And the Waze freezing obviously is an issue from time to time.

I read somewhere this is a known issue. But I also read it's a driver issue so it's gonna take a bit to fix. But this was probably 2 months ago at this point...

I'm gonna assume you mean hardware driver and not jeep driver (aka my eyes going bad) :)

Bumping this thread. Got a Pixel 2 after having a Samsung S7 Edge. The Samsung was a piece of junk as phones go, but Android Auto worked every time without hesitation.

Now every 10th time or so Android Auto won't work for like a day and randomly start working again. I can't find what makes it work again.

Anyone find any fixes to this?

@JeepCares - Please comment further on this. You asked me to send you my VIN, which I'm not sure why it's needed. I have the 8.4" Uconnect. It has Android Auto. I have a LG V30+ running Oreo. These should just work together.

I also have a samaung galaxy s8 and my android auto comes and goes. Sometimes it works fine, other times it disconnects or doesnt connect at all. "Device not supported" is usually the message. But then the next day it will work fine. 2018 2 door JL uconnect 7" screen
When I first got my 2dr. JL I saw this same thing with my S8. Got a different cable and then all was well. Try a different cable.

Note: I have the 8.4

Done that, tried multiple cables including ordering an Ankar that is on Google's known good list for USB cables for Android Auto. Still 50/50 flaky. :-(
