I no longer run these wheels, because the backspace would not work for my set up...however I might switch back

If you originally got theJL wheels you should get the JK version as has better backspacing (4.52 or something like that)

What concern / need / desire are these addressing?
John: I like the look of the cap head screws, and I like the look of stainless steel. I think the protection rings change the look of the Borah’s, and then I think the hex head bolts change it even further. And my thought is that a rounded cap head bolt may slide off rocks more easily than the standard hex head, that appear to stick out pretty far.

Bryce, your point of messing up the allen head opening is a legit one I would think. I’m not near Atlanta, but I’d be happy to pay for shipping if you really aren’t going to use yours anymore. If you weigh then, I can send you a shipping label to print and slap on a box. That’s a generous offer, thank you.

Maybe they'll work great with the ring. I was picturing them on the base (sans ring) wheel and they'd be less than ideal there.

Here's some pics of my JL spec Onyx AEVs with different setups. No rings here:

Vs with satin black painted protection rings and black button head bolts:

I'm having an issue with the new bolts rusting (I've tried painting them already). Not sure what else to do; might have to order the OE ones from AEV instead.
What did you end up doing? The bolts I got from Johnson’s ended up rusting after just one week so I took them out and put the OE ones again!

I like the look with black bolts more.

Has anyone tried the mopar beadlock bolts with this? I can’t find their size online, but if they fit, that would be a great alternative!

I received my JL borah wheels today. 1 of the 5 has a problem with the center cap. It won’t fully seat. And if I swap center caps around doesn’t change. So definitely a wheel problem. Which they are replacing only once I send the other back. I also received a damaged protection ring that they don’t think is damaged “enough” for a return. Lol. I understand it’s a sacrificial part but I wanted to be the one to scratch them up. And to top it off the bolts are all 8.8 bolts. They claim that’s what they use with protection rings even though package says 10.9. So far hasn’t been a great first impression with aev. Had I known I would have looked elsewhere for wheels.
