Looking for a Wrangler
First post to the forum. I just returned from a dealership in Orlando, FL looking to buy/lease a 2018 Wrangler S 2 door JL soft top with manual transmission with the 7" screen tech package. MSRP $33,730 plus $999 dealer fee and $458 doc fee (I know!!). They offered me an OTD Purchase price of $35,500 (6.5% sales tax) or an 36 month OTD lease of $538/month. I did not purchase it but curious to know your thoughts.

My two cents as a 2 door Sport S owner.... I called all over CA when the two doors were first released and there weren’t any discounts to be had. The issue is on the lease payments, they are very high for the 2 door vs 4 door. Jeep is offering much better lease rates on the 4 doors because of the residual value. If you want to see the difference call the dealer back and ask for the lease price of the same model specs in a 4 door.

In the end I just purchased mine and have loved it everyday since.

I will not be participating in this forum as of 8/31/2018. It's been a fun ride, but it's time to move on. Take care. - Dustin

That is way high, My unlimited with tech package, auto, hard top, etc was less than that. (and no money down)

$538 lease? even at 0 down that's nuts for that JL.
I leased mine, I did trade in my 2017 crosstrek and had $3500 in equity.
Sport S, auto, tech, soft top, convenience, floor mats. have 39m 12k miles, $319 lease, payment with zero down still wasn't anywhere near $538

Definitely never go back to that dealer.

What residual and money factor are they using? If the lease is what you want those are critical numbers to be aware of. And, really, run far and fast from a dealer that wants to charge you a $999 "dealer fee" (like, what, you are supposed to pay them for being a dealer?) AND the $458 doc fee. Find a better dealer.

I just got a 2018 JLUS with first month's payment and doc fee ($800) down with a lease payment of $435 per month. The only thing I don't have are leather seats and the upgraded Alpine audio system. (NJ)

You trading in something you are way upside down on or have horrible credit? Way to high of a payment for a 36mnt lease
