For the record, over on the Ram forums we've noticed the following on the 2019 1500s: When the A/C is set to recirculate for an extended period of time, every 15 minutes and 10 seconds, the "fresh-air-door" opens for exactly 50 seconds, and then closes. Dozens of us have noticed it, I was on a 5 hour road trip when I got out the stopwatch and timed it. It is perfectly repeatable.

The folks over at Ramcares also have no clue if it is intentional or not, but it sure seems it.

Have this happen regularly, I’d say it’s on a timer to do it. Driving along (long trip interstate driving) with ac going good then all of the sudden you can feel super humid warmer air work up from under the dash. Lasts just long enough to tick you off then back to regular ac for a bit. Seems like it’s most noticeable on high humidity days.
Same thing happens to me. Seems like every time I drive my Jeep longer then 45 mins straight, I get that hot air. Pretty frustrating

Hi jespey,
Your case manager is still actively working your case. The first dealer you visited was unable to duplicate your concern, which unfortunately is most times necessary in order for your dealer to identify the proper repair process. We recommend connecting with your case specialist.

Hello. I took my Jeep in this past Friday for this exact problem of the intermittent warm air blast and gave them TSB 24-006-19 as reference. This is their response. I drove the next day approximately 200 miles round trip and it is blowing intermittent warm air. It happened approximately 8-10 times. Please help!

I asked my dealer when I called about the steering damper recall if they could fix this at the same time. They said there is no recall. I mentioned this and they insisted they wouldn't look at it until there was a recall. I told them I doubt there is an actual recall done, just a repair for the Jeeps affected.

Have same AC issue...had TSB done in Mid September...all fine for two weeks and now having same problem again...took to dealer and they said it is normal operation....spoke to Jeep care specialist and they concurred with dealer....So now I am sruck with a $50K vehicles with screwed up AC. Looks like a class action suit is in order if everyone get together.

Class Action Lawsuit?? Hardly. They say it's by design and it is, so there is no lawsuit. The design sucks, in terms of dumping hot or cold unconditioned air in the cab in excess, but there is no safety risk to the driver or general public so there is no lawsuit to be had.
The design sucks, no two ways around that. I've found the easiest way to deal with it is hit the recirc button twice when you sense the air dumping in. I'm so in-tune with it now that I can tell within seconds of that dump occurring.
When we wheel I unplug the harness with it in the recirc position so dust doesn't get dumped in the cabin from the trails. It is what it is at this point. Sadly this one gets chalked up to... "because, Jeep".

I seriously doubt that it is by design given that I have driven several jeeps as mine and none have had the problem come up. The TSB now being touted as the repair came out 2 months after I complained to FCA. What a coincidence. They now say that an update to the current TSB may be coming in the future if enough complaints come in. So I urge all that have this problem to start dealing with FCA instead of dealerships because they are clueless.

I have this problem as well. Randomly getting a blast of hot air onto your feet when it's 80+ outside, looks so ridiculous, you can't even call it a Jeep thing. Sometimes, you feel like a Jeep operator, instead of just enjoying driving a JL, as every supposed-to-be-automatic system constantly requires little adjustments here and there for no real reason.

Had the TSB done 2 months ago and within 2 weeks, same problem surfaced again. Dealer and FCA have no idea what is wrong. Everyone needs to contact FCA with this issue so a new TSB can be issued.

Easy fix guys. Drop the glove box door, fire up your jeep, turn on the recirc, then disconnect the plug to the motor through the glove box opening.

My wife was ready to shoot the Jeep over this stupid design and now she loves it again

I believe when you do that, you kill your defrosting ability. This is clearly a design flaw that Jeep needs to fix. We all must complain to FCA in order to get this issue resolved.

BOOM, you beat me to it. I did this exact same thing a few months ago. Hasn't blown hot air since.
