Anyone had the issue where the dash vents stopped blowing air. New problem, worked yesterday and looking for advice.

I will check the cabin filter Monday, bit doubt if it as all other vents work at all temps selected.

The climate setting allows selecting the vent, just nothing comes out.

Strange but all seem to work - temp, fan, sync… just won’t blow out the dash vent.

Thanks for asking… all help welcome

Perhaps a blockage or the vent hose disconnected?

Or a squirrel got stuck? ~

Ah I see what you’re saying now. The mode selector isn’t working to move the door up to the panel vents. Is it maki my any tapping noises? Did you have any other work done recently?

If I recall correctly, JSCAN has the ability to exercise parts of the HVAC vent/duct/door system........ just a thought.

BTW - Jeep HVAC blower motors are strong - ask the mouse that got blown out of the heater at my wife's right foot a few years back. Poor mouse. Wife wasn't real happy.
On the other hand, we figured out what the weird noise was coming from when the heat was on.

Good question - but no action or noise. Like it ignores the signal to move the door.

I am going to see if the filter is clogged, check to see a hose is disconnected . Thank you and appreciate all ideas.

PSA -- Cabin Air filter (K&N) once removed and cleaned all worked as normal. A dirty, nasty clogged filter will stop the dash vents from blowing air. Problem solved.

However am not sure why defrost and floor were not affected as they worked strong / normal. Seems like the system would want filtered air to all areas.

Appreciate the forum for the advice. Hopefully others will see this and not believe they have a bigger issue than reality.

I remember the first time I replaced a cabin air filter, and being a bit surprised at the sheer amount of detritus that it was capable of capturing.

I also remember chuckling to myself, thinking that I'm breathing in the same crap while commuting on my motorcycle, while my wife drives to work in clean, conditioned air.

Mm. The modern Wrangler is heavily encumbered with electronics. Our paranoia is earned. ;)

Good grief. Where are you driving that you managed to clog the air filter that bad? Also, it makes no difference to whether you’re on panel or floor position when it comes to the cabin filter. There is no bypass.

Something doesn’t add up.

I do use the vehicle offroad in harsh conditions. Hence while use K&N reusable air cabin filters. But still never expected only the dash vents not to work -- was expecting if an issue all air flow would be reduced as a hint to clean/change. When only the dash vents stopped working I did this post as still do not understand why.

Just glad it was resolved easily. Agree something "does not add up" if "no bypass" is true.

Lots of old Jeeps. JLURD ordered 5/7.
Interesting. I have the same problem this morning and decided to search for answers while I’m waiting for the Dr.

We had such a big wildflower bloom this spring that I’m betting the cabin filters are clogged w/pollen.
