Is anyone else’s JLU vibrating gently, intermittently at idle. It’s like it’s just slightly out of time. There’s no visual indication on the tach or on the body... I can just feel it, ever so slightly. Is this a Jeep/Pentastar thing?

Nothing I've noticed besides the usual vibrations inherent to a V-6 at idle.

Mine vibrates and you can feel it through the steering wheel and the armrest. It's not too bad though so I guess it's normal? Poor engine mount?

I have sat in and started more then a dozen JL's with the 3.6. --- 13, if you count my 3.6 JL.. They all did/do this. I chalk it up to the nature of the beast so to speak.

Another thing these 3.6 all did, is to give out a little squeal when they started up.

In regard to the squeal, you can avoid this if you apply very little ... light pressure on the brake pedal when starting the 3.6 JL. Haven't heard the squeal in weeks with the less pressure on the brake pedal at start-up.

Please, don't anybody post a YouTube video in response to my comment here, where some nitwit says that this is not typical in regard to the JL/JLU.

I notice it too. Our 2018 4Runner also does it.

Interesting that it is only for the automatic Wranglers.

2019 JLU 6-speed - can confirm this is common across all transmissions, especially in cold weather

My 3.6 manual has idled rough since day 1. I have been living with it even though I did not recall our 2012 doing this. I had it in for an oil change and checked a new 3.6 manual on the lot which idled much smoother. Of course the service department said all was normal and seemed to have no interest when I mentioned that the new one on the lot idled much smoother. They also told me that my oil was low but not to worry because using a quart between changes is normal too. Maybe at the CJD dealer but not in my mostly Blue Oval world! I suspect that it may be connected to the valve train solenoid that failed early on. As much as I really like my Jeep, I'm really not so sure I want to own it out of warranty.

I've noticed my engine will idle a little rough when the evap purge valve is pulsing, maybe that's what you are feeling.
