8.4” uconnect issues delamination

I know this has been addressed but curious to know what success (if any) folks have had with jeep cares for the screen delamination issues that cause jumping from inputs to other inputs. I’m at 70k miles

At 70K you're out of warranty. It'll be hit or miss whether you can find a way to get the radio replaced. Jeep Cares is just a middle man. It'll be up to the dealer you decide to go to.

There's a bunch of YouTube vids on how to DIY fix it. The fixes are really just cleaning up the goo between the outer touch screen digitizer and the LED screen, then replacing it with double sided tape around the edge. Or you can spend hundreds and buy a refurbished/used unit.

Actually, you can replace just the screen with a new one. Again, YouTube is your friend.

My neighbor's 2018 Grand Cherokee with 90k miles was out of warranty and had same issue. While he was buying a used Jeep for his son, he brought it up to the manager at the dealer, and the dealer replaced the unit for him, even though his warranty was expired. Dealers can pull strings, if they want to.

I know absolutely zero about this so I'll apologize in advance. What is the difference between the one in the link you posted and this one made by the same company that has the same description? The one you posted yourself should be fine assuming you have the 8.4” Uconnect in your Jeep.

I’m from Canada and the link sent is from Amazon.ca in $Cdn pricing, hence the higher price.

I never even noticed. Sad that you even noted if was from amazon.ca and I didn't catch that either. Prob just the excitement of realizing I may not have to play more dealer games this time around. Thanks for letting me know.

Just ordered mine today and should receive it by the weekend. Mine is delaminated but still works. It just looks odd. I’ll get to it sometime in the coming week-ends.

Had the same issue at like 15k miles and the dealer replaced the whole unit under warranty and after I put a screen protector on and haven’t had an issue with delamination since

I just ordered it as well, The bubble on mine s completely across the top and down most of both sides. My radio worked fine until about a week ago when the media and xm buttons both lit up at the same time basically locking the radio for a couple days. For this price stupid not to see if it will fix it.
