Yeah as I've done some research since posting that I'm not as worried about switching it out, I thought it was more in-depth. I also think others have documented what works well. Thank you for the insight
When I did my lift I skipped the driveshaft replacement, as I thought it would be hard and I'll do it down the road. A few months later I did tackle it, and tackle is too strong word. It was so damn easy I couldn't understand why I waited.

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 2023 4xe Rubicon 20th anniversary, I'm thinking about lifting it relatively soon. The Jeep is my daily driver, but I do like to take it offroading a decent bit(optimistically maybe 25 times a year), and I have plans to install either 35s or 37s. My goals are to keep a comparable ride quality, pick up 2-3ish inches of lift, keep it around $2,000, and I DO NOT want to change the front drive shaft. Originally, I was going to go with the new Mopar Bilstein lift, However, it seems like people are saying they only pick up about 1-2" of lift. To me this seems like it is making less and less sense as the 20th anniversary already has a 1" lift in it, I understand the shocks are a big upgrade, and I do get longer control arms. My next thought was to get a JKS J venture or J Kontrol lift however, I am "worried"/curious about ride quality. The next kit I am considering is the AEV Dualsport which I have heard good things about when it comes to ride quality, but unsure of the lift height and spring capacity as I have steel bumpers, winch, tools, recovery gear, etc.
Thank you in advance, any other recommendations on potential lifts would be appreciated!
It would be better if you decide 35s or 37s first. That will make things super easy in terms of other decisions.
35s on 4xe Rubicon
- If you are running 35x11.5r17 you can run it as is without lift. Any 4xe sits 1" higher than regular rubicon, and the 20th anniv came with an additional 0.5" over a regular 4xe rubicon. You can wheel it on 35s - have done it myself on 35x11.5r17s
- if you are going to run 315/70/17 or 35x12.5r17 your stock rims are too narrow for them and will look bulged/crowned. Also the extra width will rub slightly at the rear at full lock.
Video of flexed out stock 4xe rubicon on 35x11.5r17:

If you want to run 37s - you could either do a spacer lift and shocks or a put together list plan with Mopar lift 4xe springs + spacer OR AEV 4xe springs set. Take a look at my build thread for the journey of how my jeep evolved from stock on 35s, to 37s on mopar springs+spacer, and now on AEV springs. I run Fox shocks and keep equal up and down travel (currently 4 up and 4.5 down).. FOX shocks dont extend past 28" so you are good on driveshaft and 4hi-auto vibration issues.

I appreciate the insight! I say this now but maybe it won't go well for me, I don't think I'm all that worried about rubbing even with a 12.50 if I add a .5-1" wheel spacer. Even though the 20th anniversary is only .5 higher than a 4xe, I'm sitting a whole inch higher than my mom's '25 4xe Rubi which is weird, and I don't get it. The rims do make me a little worried but it's not my biggest concern. In all likelihood, I'll probably follow a similar path and take baby steps until I fully do everything but we will see. I would love to do 37s and I will probably regret going with 35s, but at this stage, it makes more sense to go with 35s and upgrade stuff gradually to be able to run 37s.
Did you regear at any point? and what drive shaft did you go with?

I have 37's and haven't regeared my 4xe Rubi. Having massive torque from the electric motors helps to get up to speed. I don't hit 8th gear very often anymore, but that doesn't bother me. Have the 4:1 low range for off-road, so plenty of rock crawling torque.

I think I'll only regear if I ever go to 40's or if a differential breaks.

I went with Mopar 2” lift installed by dealer and 37”k03’s. Did a fender chop as well. You can view my photos for the look. Very happy with ride and stance after 3 years.

Aev 2.0.
I added Mopar lower arms as well (not that they looked any longer)
Last year got fox 2.0 shock
But those optional. I drove without those things and was just as good.

at the time our 4xe were higher than all rubicons out of the gate. So 2 inch lift was enough on top of what we had and no drive shaft needed.

ofc I prefer proper lift and was going that route but now that 392 pricing is better I’m holding off with that. Just in case I pull the trigger.
do you think method 703 17x9 -12 offset with Baja boss 37s will work with the aev 2in spacer?

I have 2023 rubicon 4xe with the aev 2in spacer. For reference.

What did you use to recalibrate the tire size?

It should. Good lift, works well on a trail.
But you'll want higher lift down the road and bigger tires. :D

I got tazer JL mini for tire size.
