Hey, is anyone else experiencing poor AC performance on the 4xe? I switched from a 2018 3.6 JLUR which had great AC and would cool the cabin with the back windows off. But this 4xe can't even keep you cool with the soft top and all the windows closed up. I had a code pop up in spring that required the AC compressor to be replaced, before I ever really used it.

My wife just took a drive in it for an 100 mile round trip in 105 degree heat and she reported to me that everyone was sweating like mad and it was set to Max AC mode.

I've got a buddy with some HVAC experience and tools, so we may do a simple subcooling test on the lines to check for performance. But, I'm just wondering if I should be scheduling another visit to the dealer.

I’d say there is a problem. I’m in Houston and have not had an issue getting the Jeep cold in less than 5 minutes. Temps are around 100 with 100% humidity.

Mine works great. I'm in south Florida and routinely see 90+ degree days. And I have the SOT top. Which is not forgiving to heat. My A/C gets super cold quickly.

Are you driving in full electric mode? The A/C doesn’t perform as well in electric-only mode.
I've noticed this as well... But no, my wife was on a 100 mile drive so she was on gas.

That's odd. The poor functioning on electric-only mode is in the owner's manual. It's just one of the trade-offs you take for gas-free mileage. However, it should work like normal on Hybrid or eSave modes.

Also working fine here. Feels like it takes a little longer to cool down with the SOT top if it's been baking in the sun for a while, but even on electric-only mode I feel like the A/C keeps up even in the current Northeast heat wave. I don't even use the max A/C setting, just leave it on "auto" and set something between 65-70* and it gets comfortable within a couple of minutes.

Mine works fine even when I have the soft top. If my wife said that to me I would ask what buttons she is pressing...

Just echoing everybody else, mine is ice cold I have to turn it down sometimes. I did notice that it performs better with a hardtop, but that's expected.

I had an issue a few days ago when I had it at the lowest setting and on recirculating mode. I too was on gas vice electric power on the highway. I turned off recirculating mode and raised the temp to 70, so it was still comfortable, but I certainly felt like I was getting some warm air out.

We have had like 100% humidity here for several days, so I wasn't too surprised if it was having a hard time keeping up. I left it like that for the rest of the ride home and it was fine.

I had heard that using recirculating mode was supposed to be more efficient since it is just recooling already cooled air, but I don't know. Seems like it worked better once I turned that off. I was never sweating though.

I'm in Houston and mine sucks. Dealer said they recharged it while it was in for recalls so whenever I get it back I'll know if it was fixed.

It takes about 30 minutes to fully cool down if it was sitting in a parking lot baking. It should be like 5 minutes.
This is what I'm seeing as well. It cools, but no where as much as it should.

Unfortunately, when I went to drop it off for my service appointment, the shop had lost all power, so they couldn't check it in, then they admitted that they would keep it overnight anyways as I was not a morning appointment. How nice. I now have an appointment for first thing in the morning, two weeks out. ugh.

First, check the recirculating switch, Make sure the door is operating properly. Remove the glove box and the door in question is right above the cabin air filter. For some reason, mine got stuck in the fresh air mode and it wouldn't cool very well. I removed the motor and hit the switch and it freed up. It makes a big difference. Good luck.

You’re not alone. I have 23k miles on mine. I live in Tennessee and travel to Texas often. AC has been ice cold and worked perfect in 90-100+ degree weather no problem. I usually set it to 65 to 67 degrees around town and on long trips sometimes 69 to 70 in auto mode. But this week I noticed something was off. I had it completely maxed out on Lo and the air coming out was humid and not very cold. From experience with other vehicles thats a compressor issue. I’m taking it into the dealer tomorrow and have family that works there so I should get quick feedback. I’ll report back soon

I recently leased a brand-new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hybrid from them. After just a few days of driving, I noticed a serious issue with the air conditioning—it doesn’t cool the car properly, even when it’s on full blast.

I brought the vehicle back to the dealership two weeks after the lease began to have it inspected. They told me there was nothing wrong with it and that there was nothing they could do. So now I’m stuck with a vehicle that doesn’t work as it should, and if I want to get out of the lease, I’d have to pay $3,500 out of pocket.

I’ve been leasing new vehicles for over three decades, and this is by far the worst car and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced—from both Chrysler and this dealership. Extremely disappointed.
