I read somewhere (forgot where) a review where the reviewer gave a low rating to a 4xe, and the reason was the A/C would sometimes suddenly blow hot air for a little while. They said they took it to the dealer, and the dealer said it was designed that way. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with switching to/from electric mode? Has anyone experienced hot air coming out of the A/C for a moment? (Obviously, I'm not talking about when you've jumped into a hot vehicle and just started the A/C and it just hasn't gotten cold yet.)

Check this thread out, it applies across all powerplant types: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...0-4cyl-turbo-unlimited-jl.77279/#post-1611467

Well, I don't have a Wrangler yet. I was reading reviews and this A/C issue had me worried a bit. How long would you say the A/C gets hot, when it occurs?

After continuously running for about an hour the AC will blow hot like Satan’s breath for about 1 minute and then cold again. It is NOT normal. Who would design an air conditioning system to blow blazing hot air at you intermittently for about a minute periodically? I’ve taken mine in twice. Since the last time they “fixed” it I haven’t driven it continuously for an hour to see if it’s actually fixed. It wasn’t the first time.

It’s nothing to do with any electrical switching, I have a 2019 3.6L.

Oh yeah my 2018 would do that every once in a while. So agree it's most likely not 4xe-specific. I haven't noticed it yet with my 4xe and its been on a few 4-5 hour highway trips. Although I otherwise have the doors off so much in the summer I rarely use my A/C. So maybe I'm not the best authority on the subject. LOL

@eddified no reason to be worried. You are going to be in love with your Jeep. I remember researching all kinds of things like ride quality, wind noise, etc before I got my first one. Those things never crossed my mind again after I got it. Too damn fun!
