I shortened my hoses using Flexzilla fittings. The hoses are only a foot longer than the farthest the valve stem could be on each tire. Not the cheapest setup but I’m not dragging the hoses through mud and dirt. I store them in a Bucket Boss jumper cable bagI'm not where I want to be yet. But I have Apex Designs RPV rapid deflators. I couldn't be happier with those. I can air down my 37s in about 10 seconds each, not counting screwing the cap on and off.
My inflating equipment isn't where I'd like to end up. I'm currently using a Viair 440P portable and a dual hose setup I made from Harbor Fright parts. I have a couple other higher output compressors, which I may mount and plumb for onboard air. The identical setup @Terrymo has is what I'm leaning toward, with the possible exception of the 4 hose setup. I hate coiling hoses. But maybe a custom length 4 hose setup with just enough length for my uses, would be more convenient than having an eleventy million foot generic hose system.
I've also been thinking about installing some large inflator valves, like heavy equipment uses. These are larger diameter stems and Schrader valves with much higher fill and bleed rates. Your standard Schrader valves are a limitation to inflating. I'd machine a second valve port for that in each wheel. There are commercial versions made by PowerTank and others, as well as just buying heavy equipment valve stems.
I bought a couple of these hoses that I use now. I haven't even trimmed them yet. But I like the hose material itself. After a couple years, it's holding up well. I think I'll make up more convenient lengths and install the compressor under the seat and put in the QDs on both sides like you did.I shortened my hoses using Flexzilla fittings. I usually throw the hoses in the back of the Jeep after airing up and deal with them in an OCD manner after I get home.
