Those Baja Designs replacement headlights look fantastic. I'll keep my eye on your website to see when they are released.

I found out that American Adventure Labs was looking for a 2-door JL to use as a test Jeep to build several products for the 2-door. I contacted AAL and made arrangements for them to use my Jeep to build the products.

Here is the first of the AAL products going in my Jeep. It is a M.A.S.S. Plus storage platform that can be used as is, or as a base to add a slide, drawers, and more. I am impressed with the build quality, using a steel frame and an aluminum load carrying surface, it is stout. And it fits a 2-door JL like a glove. The whole thing is powder coated textured black, then the load carrying surface is also Mil-Spec coated. The Mil-Spec coating adds durability, slip resistance, and sound deadening. The two removable doors in the platform can be removed to access the OEM storage cubby.

It is time for a few updates.

I was unhappy with the Husky cargo liner I had been using in my 2-door. It is a hard slippery plastic material that curls up at the edges and slides around on the carpet. It felt cheap and flimsy. So, it was removed.

Finding a better quality cargo liner for a 2-door can be challenging. Husky, Quadratec, Weathertech, and some others are all pretty much the same flimsy slippery style of cargo liner. There are better quality cargo liners for a 4-door, and I actually bought a 3W Liners cargo liner. It is great quality and just what I was looking for. But a 4-door cargo liner doesn't fit a 2-door very well because the cargo area of a 2-door is 4" longer front to back, which leaves a gap at both ends if you use a 4-door cargo liner. My 3W Liners cargo liner is now being used in my 4-door Jeep.

I then read on this forum that American Adventure Labs was looking for a 2-door JL to use as a test Jeep to build several products for the 2-door. I contacted AAL, who are only 48 miles from me, and made arrangements for them to build the products using my Jeep.

I’m a long ways from home and passing through St. George. I was fortunate to stop into AAL today and saw your Jeep. Going that way myself. It looks amazing! Have to figure out my fridge slider and Brit checked out my Jeep and current setup. I’m jealous but hopefully not far behind you.

Awesome… 4 BOH trails in 4 days. My new favorite there is Elephant Hill.

Elephant Hill is a fantastic trail. I don't know if you did this, but instead of returning into the park you can continue south on the Elephant Hill trail to Bobby's Hole. The climb out of Bobby's Hole used to be very challenging. It has likely been graded since I did it, because it was almost unpassable at that time. Once out of Bobby's Hole you enter Ruin Park, which has a number of old Indian ruins that can be explored. Then return by a number of dirt roads to Monticello.

No we saw the T for Bobby’s Hole but didn’t do the research to consider.

I picked up my Jeep from American Adventure Labs today. Here is the work they did for me. All of these parts will now be available to purchase for the 2-door JL. I can't emphasize enough how good the fit and finish and build quality is on all of the AAL parts.

The shelf on top is their new Overland Storage Shelf. Underneath is a new slide that is narrower and longer, and a 6" storage drawer that is wider, and also longer than the 4-door versions. All are powder coated a combination of textured black and Anvil, with a Mil-Spec coating on the top of the shelf and the M.A.S.S. Plus platform

Underneath the M.A.S.S. Plus Platform, and mounted in the OEM cubby, is a 100aH lithium battery that has its own DC-DC charger. There is also a separate 5-amp trickle charger mounted in the cubby that can be plugged into shore power to keep the lithium battery charged if I am unable to drive the vehicle for an extended period of time. The fridge is a compact Euhomy model that will keep food, drinks, and medicine cool with minimal power draw.

I love this! AAL did a bang up job on that M.A.S.S. Storage system! The overland storage shelf is sick too! Did you get rid of the old shelf? I think all your things have been checked off now yeah?

I still have the Vector Offroad storage shelf and all of the mounting hardware. I will likely put it up for sale.

Almost all checked off. I still need to install the Metalcloak Undercloak skids. Then I need to get out and use it.

Mounted my Milwaukee axe to the Overland cargo shelf using AALs clamps. I like it, the axe is mounted rock solid and is out of the way.

I installed Metalcloak Undercloak skid plates to help protect its belly. This completes my original list of planned upgrades.

I wasn't happy with the BD LP6 lights mounted on a fairlead light mount. I tried two different brands of fairlead mount, and they both flexed too much, which caused the light beam to bounce up and down whenever you hit a bump. I removed the fairlead mount LP6 lights and will use them elsewhere. I'm now back down to just the LP9s on the bumper, which is more than adequate.
