Many here will remember the ongoing discussions in regard to the iffy, windshield defrosting on a JL.

Myself and many others over the last few years have been using square plastic plugs placed strategically to improve hot air direction in order to improve on the JL's windshield defrosting.

Well, I can report that the strategically placed plugs did the deed for me... but recently a fellow forum member sent me the 3D printed diverters seen in the picture below to try out.

Can tell you the guy that printed these diverters did a terrific print job on them. They look factory and once placed they stay put.. inside of the diverters there is a angled channel that takes the forced hot air coming out of the diverter and directs it forward, directly toward the windshield.

Anyway, I can report the diverters are a positive addition to my strategically placed plugs.

Finished printed face plate with G screen inserted.

Would love to see the final install pic!

Sorry I took a bit to get back to you but, after doing a really nice install everything zip tied or routed under the trim the screen didn't work. I emailed Genesis and stated I had checked the connections a half dozen times. I was given an RMA and I sent the screen, ribbon cable and control module back for testing as instructed. I get another email telling me that the unit powered up and was functioning just fine if I want I could send the long cable in for testing. Part of the reply was:
"All units are tested and calibrated before shipping, so usually issues like this are caused by a pinched, folded, or broken wire somewhere, or as stated above simply a loose connection".
So I cut the zip ties, pull the trim off and remove the long cable and send it in. At this point I'm out $25 for shipping (I insured the screen shipment).
The next email from Mike @Genesis Offroad "I wanted to let you know we received your cable, and determined it was actually made wrong to begin with, which obviously explains the issue."
So much for "All units are tested and calibrated before shipping" I guess the cables are not.
Now I had written off my shipping cost but you might think I'd of at least got a "Sorry for the inconvenience."
At any rate I reinstalled everything & its working great.
Here are the installed pics.

I really think that@Genesis Offroad should reach out to you and ask you how much your expenses were in regard to your sending their faulty product back for eval... and then they should reimburse you. Of course, they should say sorry for the inconvenience also.

Reality is you saved them the headache of dealing with other's that would receive that problematic product.

I'm surprised Shane at @Genesis Offroad did not get back to you and say sorry for that and then tell you he would reimburse you for your expenses..

Shane is a very decent guy and very concerned about customer satisfaction. Undoubtedly, he is unaware this issue occurred.

@patternman lets us know if you do hear from Genesis Offroad in regard to this. I believe you will hear from Shane.

Hello all... New here and not sure we're to ask. I'm looking for 3d print files for my dashboard console (2023 Rubicon 4xe).

Atta Boy!!

You come up with some really clever ideas. This "bracket that goes onto the seat adjuster" is one example.. Terrific idea!

Does anyone recall seeing a 3d print file for a drip rail solution that keeps water from coming in when the door is opened?
