We have two 392’s. Mine does makes the same noise and it goes away quickly. Wife’s has never done it. Go figure. Regardless, I think it’s harmless.

You are “fighting bad advice” that you don’t actually know is bad advice.

Take it the dealer, have it documented. Just know, it’s normal and they’re likely going to tell you the same thing.
You obviously don’t understand what “having skin in the game” means ??. Someone telling the OP “don’t worry about it, it’s normal” has nothing to lose. It’s the OP’s vehicle that may be damaged if there’s something wrong, so the OP has “skin in the game”. The OP clearly stated that his 6.4L engine started making a “different” noise than the Hemi tick. A “squeaking” noise that can clearly be heard in his video. The noise in his video sounds more like a “squealing” than a “squeaking” to me, but it’s obviously different than the “tick” that is common on these engines.

The “bad advice” to ignore it is just that… BAD ADVICE. Good advice would be to suggest having it documented, regardless of what the dealer may say.

Don’t understand why you are creating an argument targeted at someone giving good advice ?

bulletin from 2/27:
Customer complains of a brief metallic ticking/rattling/ringing noise after a cold start-up, that can be heard while standing outside the vehicle, resonating from the front wheel well areas. If the noise is present, it is normally heard at idle and the frequency of the noise will follow engine speed.
The engine/exhaust ticking/rattling/ringing concern customers may report on the TRX is inherent to the exhaust manifold and catalyst design that ultimately helps achieve the 6.2L supercharged engine's horsepower and torque levels. The high level of exhaust flow and pressure, which the exhaust system is designed to withstand under the harshest of conditions, causes this metallic sound especially during a cold start-up. This sound is amplified by the ground clearance and height of the TRX in comparison to other vehicles with the 6.2L supercharged engine. It is considered a normal operating characteristic of this vehicle.

Oddly this makes sense because my exhaust and my wife’s differ some too. Mine tends to burp, gurgle and rumble a little more upon deceleration than hers. Hers still sounds great, I would just say it seems to be more fluid and mine a bit more unpredictable.

Brought it to the dealer, left it overnight. Their response was it was normal. The l3 tech said he has a 392 as well and this is just what they do on cold start. Still not 100% convinced as it isn't the tick, but a squeak. Will keep trying to figure it out.

My 392 also has the same cold start squeaky noise, but my question is: do you also hear similar noise when there’s load on the engine, i.e. during acceleration. It’s louder when the vehicle is still cold and becomes subtle after the vehicle fully warms up, but it’s still there, especially under hard acceleration. The best way to describe the sound is a sewing machine like sound or you run a ratchet reversely. Revving the engine in neutral, it doesn’t have the noise. The jeep is fantastic other than the noise but it’s really something drives me nuts.

It is absolutely more of a squeal than a tick. Actually it's very similar to a belt noise.

Mine has done it since day one. 10K miles on it now.

Still does it.

Not a worry for me.

I've been watching and following this tread for a long time. I'd say that on mine, I hear a sound that reminds me of an old carborator ringing.... - does that sound like what you're all describing?

I had the same squeak for months at cold start. Got progressively worse, louder and started to take longer to go away. Sorry, It is not normal for belt squeak on a low milage vehicle, and I wasn't buying the "They all sound like that" BS.. After four trips to the dealership, they figured out that my crankshaft pulley was splitting and slightly out of alignment with the belt, probably from a rock or something impacting it. Once they replaced that it's been all quiet.

Still no major change. I have noticed it gets louder when I switch to reverse. So same squeal as in the audio I attached but louder when in reverse. I am going to bring it back in. I am sure to no avail.

Can you take the belt off and start it quick?

If it's separate from the hemi tick, then it's likely just an idler bearing. Taking the belt off will confirm this rather quickly.
