2nd Windshield Gorilla or not

1st Cracked windshield replaced with Gorilla through Jeep warranty. I was told one replacement. 3 months later another crack started about 2 inches now stretched all the way across. Honestly don’t see that it’s much better. I have had many cracked windshields in my life and never had the cracks run like these two Gorilla windshields. Would like opinion if Gorilla is worth it?

You’re still in Florida? Does the insurance not have to cover it at no cost as with other windshields? Since we’ve been here (12 years) we’ve paid $0.0 for windshield repair/replacement on any vehicle.
My Jeep has the Gorilla glass windshield and has not taken any damage other than a very small chip way up near the top that can only be seen from outside and has not grown.

If you're paying out of pocket then no, it probably doesn't make sense to get Gorilla Glass. As far as we can tell it's designed to keep things from making it into the passenger compartment without really focusing on damage prevention.

What does your auto insurance cover. My insurance covers windshield replacement with $100 deductible. This is for standard glass. They don’t cover upgrades to gorilla glass. It will take a lot of $100 deductions to equal the host of gorilla glass.

literally in your shoes. im on my third windshield in just a few months with the warranty just like you. went third party. problem doesnt go away but at least im not paying anywhere near as much as getting gorilla glass and my premium isnt skyrocketing from insurance claims.

its a jeep thing.

been covered before, but be careful with claiming windshield, it counts as an at fault claim against you.

For my situation, it was cheaper to get the GG through the dealer. Also a free warranty replacement within 2 years so it is less $$$ per windshield. Safelite did not have any warranty replacement. If you have insurance, it would only be a claim every other time.

250 deductible but I’m thinking this Gorilla glass is not worth it.

Learned that the hard way. Have 2 teen drivers replaced a windshield then to minor fender benders and they dropped two of our policies after 30 years being with them. Fortunately two policies are grandfathered in. Total BS
