So, this is just a FYI awareness, issue had been resolved.

***Short story: Failed battery.

Details:

I’ve a 2021 JLU Willys eTorque 3.6 v6, with few issues to date. In early 2022 started experiencing some ESS (Start/Stop) “Not Ready” issues. Jeep service checked it and indicated a parasitic draw, charged the battery and released it back to me. I installed a battery disconnect for my winch but still had the issue on occasion. Fast forward to a week ago and I’ve got a no Start dead Jeep. Some clicking, a lot of weird electronic messages like, “Not in park”, different ODB low voltage messages. Put on the charger and got her started, next day same issue. Same issue, except got harder to start and charge duration lasted less and less each time. Tested battery voltage from full charge, and again an hour later and documented a 2v drop which continued down over the hrs. Disconnected battery from the jeep an repeated the test, same result.

Called Jeep service described the problem and asked if I could bring the battery over. Told no go needed the whole Jeep in. Jeep was so difficult to start as this point, charger & jump pack no-luck I need the Jeep courtesy tow (8+ hrs. of pain for that).

Service dept. called for another description of the issue now that it was on-site. They then proceeded to ask about my mods and comment about parasitic draw. I repeated a description of my testing and they did note my comments on the work form.

Six hours later I got the call that my Jeep was ready. Bad battery, failed load test. I’m happy they got it and covered under warranty. Pain to have the Jeep towed into the dealership. Oh and they noted, no parasitic draw on the results.

I put two interstate batteries in my 2018 right after I bought it because the factory batteries are junk.

I had the same ESS problem with my '21 2.0L turbo. Starting to see the same symptoms again after 2 years of battery change. How'd the Interstate batteries work for you?

I have had the MTZ-48/H6 and the MTX-Aux14 for 2.5 years or so now, driven less than 300 miles a month and it never fails to engage ESS at the first stop light I come up to.

I just went through the same thing but on my 2023 with 4k miles.... had to have Jeep towed to dealer and they replaced both batteries and kept it overnight to see if any other problems and everything was replced under warranty except I was required to pay $40 to schedule the tow through Jeep Roadside assistance, not sure why as I thought towing was included under warranty. It was only $40 and not normal price of a tow and I thought maybe there was a tow surcharge because of the distance to Dealer but it ended up only being 9.9 miles.

My 2021 JLUR with 28k miles is currently in the shop and they just changed the batteries under warrantee. They are keeping it another day to check some odd alternator readings. Seems like the charge to the battery fluctuates quite a bit.
