Going through a bit of a pain right now. Car died the other week, got it jumped, assumed it was a battery. This is where I learned all about the dual battery systems and the power pack. Anyway, dealership says my power pack is bad and needs replaced. Good news, it’s covered under warranty. However, they’re saying my battery is shot and I need a new one. My question is, does anyone have articles/links that speaks to a bad PPU causing battery damage. Hoping I can push back on Chrysler to cover the cost of my battery as well. Thanks in advance!

What ended up coming from this? My car died recently and all signs pointed to the alternator, but now the mechanic is saying my issue is related to the batter pack unit that can only be replaced by the dealer?

Feeling very confused because I initially took the car to the dealer but went elsewhere after they told me it would be $2,100 to fix the alternator (they even ran the $180 diagnostic test on it). Searching for any similar experiences to try and figure out how to best proceed. Thanks!

@BriggsMR hasn't been seen in about a month. I wonder if he has the 2.0 etorque. That 48v battery is quite expensive. @willnabors do you have etorque or ESS with the small aux battery?

I have the eTorque. I never knew that it has the potential to create such costly repairs. Have you heard of any other issues related to it?

This is my third Jeep and never had any major problems but in the last year I’ve had several repairs and issues and has put quite the dent in my checkbook. The whole ordeal has me tempted to just sell it and go to the dark side with a new 4-door Bronco ugh.

Just buy a gas Wrangler if you don't want a Bronco. I know me personally if I had to buy a 4 door and it was between Wrangler and Bronco it's Wrangler all day. If I could get a 2 door Bronco with an SFA I'd be driving a Ford instead of a Jeep.

I can't stand 4 door wranglers but if you put a gun to my head and made me choose it would have to be a Wrangler over Bronco.
