Has anyone replaced the windshield washer pump and how hard is it? It looks like it is a press in fit but I’m not sure. Thanks in advance.

I ordered the part from Allmoparparts and will be doing this soon. Haven't looked at how fun it will be. Sounds like I need to plan a little longer than I thought.

@Tangoroger idk if you already knew you have to replace the washer pump, I thought I would have to too, but today I went and took an air compressor to the hoses and cleared it out. Note, I can hear my pump working, nothing was coming out. One time, to test, I disconnected the joint and turned the pump on and didn't see anything coming out. Today I took the connector joint so I could blow air into both the exhaust (towards the windows) and towards the pump. I just used a little mini air compressor for the tires and the hose towards exhaust fit perfect while the one towards the pump i had to hold in place. They both blew out eventually, you can tell from the reservoir bubbling and air coming out the exhaust. If you haven't already, try that. The pump replacement on the JL looks frustrating due to placement.

I did replace it. Not bad one you know what needs to be removed. My old pump was not too bad, but the new one is really strong. I still have a problem and my next target is the sprayers on the hood.

Yes I did that. My issue is now the everything is clear up to the nozzles on the hood. I’m still working on it (when I get time). When it comes out of those two nozzles it’s not spraying far enough to hit the windshield in the center. It’s barely hits the bottom.

What kind of fluid are you using? I've loved RainX fluid on all my previous vehicles, but I'm hearing for some reason it doesn't get along with mopar pumps, or the sensor, or something.

The last one I used was the RainX and will not use again.

So I did need the pump. my problem was after installing the new pump I put it all back together not paying attention to the first hose routing coming out of the bottom of the reservoir. It’s corrected now and working great.

No I’m sorry, no pictures. I removed the ECM from mount bracket, then the mount bracket away from the coolant and windshield washer reservoir.
I was unable to remove the pump because the bracket was in the way of pulling up on the pump. I did remove the headliner from the hood.

I've loved RainX fluid on all my previous vehicles, but I'm hearing for some reason it doesn't get along with mopar pumps, or the sensor, or something.
There are anecdotal owner reports of the orange all-season RainX washer fluid formulation causing premature deposits/clogging in the bottom of the washer fluid tanks, with the collateral negative effect on pump functioning.

All washer fluid formulations, or colors, are subject to forming slimy deposits over extended periods. Some are more susceptible to it than others, as we see in the example of the orange RainX.

With the foregoing in mind, I make it a habit to drain and refill my washer fluid tanks at least biannually with season-specific formulations. Doing so has largely eliminated the risk of said deposits forming, which is something I did experience years ago.

I replaced the washer pump on my 2021 Gladiator last night, about 1.5 hour job, could be faster next time. I had to remove the LF wheel to get to a bolt at the bottom of the tank behind the plastic wheel well, don’t actually have to remove any bolts or clips. I also removed the grill to have a visual to the pump, and i disconnected the ECU plugs to move it out of the way, not a fun job, not necessary straight forward but just take your time.

So what are the steps? I'm looking down the barrel of this project now.
