2024 Rubicon FAD?

I tried the search option but did not find anything. So I just got a 2024 Rubicon and wondering how it works because it really does not look like there is anything on my axle that would activate it. I guess I was expecting a little electric type motor that operated it. Does it operate by centrifugal force? Maybe they no longer have it. If they don't I guess I saved on a skid plate.

My 2024 Willys didnt come with fad either. Glad for it.

The skid plate is still a good idea as its still the weakest spot on the housing. Helps absorb the hit

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is, they just have a fork on the plate that permanently locks them together.

Maybe none of the rubicons have them. It would make sense. It would be even nicer if they had a one piece axle shaft.

My 24 JLRUX 4XE has no FAD and I believe it's still a two piece collared together. When I replace with RCV I will go single piece

FAD is not included on 392, and others with the automatic transfer case.
Another way is if the joints at the wheel are not U joint but are real CVs
I have not taken one apart but I think those without FAD still have 2 piece axle.

I was crawling around and sure as sheet I have CV 's. good, bad or indifferent?

Way better, stronger, no crow hop on tight turns, smoother, quieter. More expensive to replace and some will fear puncturing the boot but I took my WJ everywhere including through overgrown brush and never tore a boot.

U joints are vastly superior to CV boots.imho Ujoints are fully serviceable. On the jeep if you rip a boot, you have to replace the whole axle. All heavy duty applications use Ujoints. Cv joints started out on front wheel drive cars that have been adapted to 4 x 4 use for smooth operation.
NOTE : This is my opinion no sense quoting me and scolding me. I’m not gonna change my mind. We all have opinions.

What really makes no sense why Jeep doesn’t just use a one piece tube and right side axle to save some money. I don’t think there’s any 2024 jeeps that are using the FAD. Maybe they’re just finishing using up the axles on hand.
