2024 Rubicon bad transmission

On the seventh day of owning my Jeep Rubicon with 700 miles on it. I took it to the dealer because it wasn’t wanting to go in reverse. The dealer stated it needed a valve body. of course there was no valve body available so after a week they ordered a complete tranny. The 13th day, I received a call saying the valve body had arrived and it was being installed. A few hours later I received a call that it didn’t fix it, and it needed the complete tranny. Now it’s the 19th day and I’m getting ready to make my 1st payment and I have nothing to show for it. My question is, does it sound as though the techs have no clue what they are doing?
I didn’t even mention the front sway bar is bad, but yes I’m waiting for it also.

I’m so disappointed it’s sickening. Wish I had known about these trannies. I would have bought a new sierra instead.

These automatic ZF transmissions are supposed to be some of the best out there, something is going on.

Just a fluke. You never hear about the people with no problems. You only hear about the people with problems.

It is a real bummer you are having these issues. I'm at 2300 miles with my 2024, only issue so far is lumbar controls are seated wrong on driver side power seat. Been running great and I love it.

The ZF8HP is likely the best automatic transmission out there. I believe that FCA renamed it Torqueflite.

I have seen numerous Hellcats, BMWs and Demons run this transmission over 1,000 hp/TQ without any issues or mods. You will find this fine German transmission on a lot of the top sports cars out there and I have had several of them behind high hp cars.

We are about the same mileage on our 2024 Rubicon with some pretty decent rock crawling and tech trails without a single issue.

The only issue was when we were airing up one day, the ARB was dead in the water. Turns out the incompetent mechanic didn't secure the Aux wire to the on/off control very well and it pulled apart. Of course, he checked every single wire and fuse possible, other than that one, first so it even wasted more of my time. I was going to fire him and give a bad review but then I realized that I do all the work on my vehicles.

At this point I am saying it's just bad luck. Like others have said these are very solid transmissions. I am a manual guy and almost got the automatic because of how good they are.

I hope they gave you a good free rental while you wait. That is truly awful. There are lemon laws and you should be careful that this vehicle doesnt have additional issues. 700 miles is outrageous.

I have a loaner but a Cherokee is not a wrangler. I’m looking into the lemon law.
