Ok - So here is my stingray 2023 taillight to compare with the 2022 stingray you posted. I'm not sure if it's just pixel/clarity in the picture, but perhaps the inner section right above and below the reverse light section, is a bit clearer on the 2023?

tempImageueF727.png
Think the combination of not being a close-up and the image compression on what I posted is making it hard to see any of the inner details very well, but the stepping definitely looks a lot more detailed in your photo.

Here's another IRL '22 pic I found that was a little better (still not a close-up shot, though). The '23 almost has more of a 'smoked' lens look (slightly darker tint, less red), but that could be just the difference in ambient lighting.

I hereby declare the '23 taillights officially the same but aesthetically, 2.35% better! ?

Guys i said “slightly” .. the change is the rectangle going from chrome/silver to black .. taillights ( euro spec ) are different in my country so I don’t see any difference there.

Here's my thread on the Rough Country 9" LED set, they use the same housing, height adjusters, and main projector as the Oracles, just a different DRL display, they've been great and sometimes you can find them on their scratch & dent ebay store for less than half off (that's what I did) and they're just repacked lights AFAIK, mine looked like they've never been touched :) Cutoff is very sharp and distinct w/ a blue edge similar to Bi-Xenons. If you get Oracle Oculus expect the same exact performance, but a circle for the DRL.

I also have the RC 9" LEDs now for over two years. There just were not many options at that time for aftermarket LEDs. The brands I wanted all were 7" with adapters and I didn't want to go that route. I'm pretty happy with the RC LEDs.

I checked the Mopar service library to see if there was a part number change and interestingly, the 2023 Wrangler not have part numbers for LED lights. I am sure they are updating the system but this may indicate a part number change more significant than a rev increase.

In my experience, the service library is not the quickest to reflect updates or changes.

It looks like the Gladiator shows the new part numbers. The 2023's do have different LED headlights. They are new part numbers with Rev AA, shown in the screen capture below

Is "Oracle" the aftermarket gold standard for LED upgrades? We did not do the LED option with our '23 Sahara and now wish we had--looking to upgrade. Headlights/foglights at least--not so worked up about the tail lights. Seems like there are 100s of options out there. Pretty sure the $199 Amazon deals are not the way to go--any recommendations? Thanks (and sorry to sort of hijack this thread).
Go on Amazon/ebay/etc and buy a LED bulb to plug into the stock harness/housing. Yes, there will be a ton of people who give you shit for it, for a million of BS reasons but it will be fine. I have LED bulbs behind the factory reflector housings and its FINE. Cutoff line is very sharp, does not blind incomming aircraft (like it probably did in my 93 suburban years ago) and have never been high beamed.

Give it a go, I am sure you will be happy with the results.

I am proud member of the forum headlight police squad. Just to clarify the laws we enforce…..We don’t care if you use sharks with laser beams for headlights, as long as you aren’t annoying everybody on the road and your low beam is actually low.

Thats what I did, and I love it!
very defined cutoff line and does not blind oncoming traffic. BIG diff in lighting between LED and halogen bulbs. I would recommend getting the fan-less type.

Is "Oracle" the aftermarket gold standard for LED upgrades? ....
I had a Willys JL with halogens and I got the Oracle Bi-LEDs. Very, very happy with them. Easy install and the daytime halos were a great safety feature. I vowed that when I got my Rubicon this year I would make LED headlights a must have. Now I wish I'd saved that money and just got another set of Oracles, because I'm about to replace the stock LEDs with them anyway. Stock halos are dimmer and the scatter is pretty bad. The stock LED tail lights are OK, I guess, but I'm definitely replacing the headlights, maybe going with the color shift.

And I think you're 100% correct about the $200 Amazon options. Seem to be complete trash.

I went this direction myself. Super satisfied. Easy install. The set with the DRLs are about $100 more.

Oracle the gold standard for LED's? ?
Good Lord

If I hadn't ticked the options list and ordered the OEM LED's from the mothership on mine, which I'd like to point out I'm very satisfied with, I probably would be ordering these below at some point..

I ordered the factory LED’s in my 2022 JLRU and am much happier with them than the aftermarket LED’s that I installed in my 2012 JK. Much brighter light and much more focused on the roadway. I have High Intensity Discharge HID’s in my 2016 GMC Acadia and my 2019 GMC Denali and the Jeep LED’s are night and day better than the HID’s.

Those Diode dynamics are a nice setup, starting at $800 isn't something I'd be able to sell the wife on however. And Oracles might not be the very best out there, but for the price I paid for my RCs (which are the same basic Oracle light), they are a great performer, at least they have been for me :) And the $250 I paid it was a much easier sell, lol.
