^This. Some states are definitely more lenient than others when it comes to aftermarket modifications. That noted, all of our products that are designed to replace the factory OEM lighting (headlights, taillights, turn signals, etc.) all fall within DOT/SAE compliance standards and will pass inspection for whatever state you are in.Actually, California is pretty laid back about mods. The only thing they are sticklers about are emission-related stuff.
No front plate? Who cares. Six-inch lift? Go have fun. Tires poke out? No problem. No mud flaps? What are those? Pink headlights? How cute...!
But you put on a cold air intake...? A new cat back...? Oh, let’s take a look...
As others have already mentioned in regard to other products, even though the housing is blacked out, the lens and optical projectors are clear and do not impede the lighting performance of our products--they just look a heck of a lot better!
